On 23/09 I settled my home loan account with Macquarie Bank. They ave sent me my customer ID number. I downloaded the app and tried using it. on 11/10 I logged on and in few minutes of logging on $3000 of my offset account were lost. I received a message saying that I have bought an apple voucher. Then another message from Macquarie bank saying that my log in was blocked because of suspicious activity happening. after contacting them to try and resolve blocking my account, they gave me instructions on what to do. They asked me to get an IT technician to secure my phone and provide them with the details. I provided what they asked then called to follow up. In the discussion I informed the customer service person that the IT person is my brother (my secured my phone and sent them an emails with what actions he has performed). The customer support person turned around and said that the email detailed what actions have been taken but she cannot accepts the email as it is from my brother. Now here I am stuck with blocked account, with $3000 taken out of my account and there is no results achieved. I am very disappointed with my recent experience Macquarie bank. I cannot wait for this matter to be resolved to get some piece of mind as this experience has traumatized me. There is no point of contact and they send me in loops. This experience has turned me off Macquarie and gave me anxiety. I am very distressed and looking to refinance within less than a month from joining and leave Macquarie.

Life changing
Farand was amazing to deal with. From the very beginning he was super positive that he would be able to help our client with their first home purchase and get a positive outcome. Terrible banking experience, nothing but trouble from day one. They have lost track of payments, sometimes for weeks, with no idea as to what happened to them. A very backwards security system which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't but mostly ends up being locked out of the account right when you need it. Want help? Get ready to wait over 30 mins minimum to talk to someone. If you're thinking about who to bank with don't choose Macquarie, plenty of better options.

On hold for 47 minutes then the system kicks me, on hold for a further 52 minutes and finally I get through to India. They put me through to another person in India after another 22 minute wait, they then put me on hold for a further 33 minutes before I get to speak to a manager who can fix my issue in Australia. They make billions and they can not even give Australians jobs in the call centres. As a war veteran I am ashamed to have served for this unaustralian bank. Imagine if we had fought wars like this. Excuse me, enemies, do you wish to kill that entire building full of innocent people? You do? Well it's our job to protect it and the people inside, but can we get you to hold until we are ready to fight you in a couple of hours? Seriously, the ANZACs would be turning in their graves with this sort of service.

Soon we will no longer be able to use cheques or cash. Use a card, so they get more fees. They want our money but don't want us to use it or use it so they can make more. It is about time Australians stood up to this bank and other to tell them we want to bank any way we want and do not want to be dictated to. We want to be able to spend our money without paying fee's, particularly while they give us very little if any interest.

I wished I bothered to read the reviews here before I went to open a simple transaction account. I opened the account for transactions, just an everyday account.. hours later they locked the account. I phoned them up.. waited for security to call me up.. nope I had to lodge a complaint 4 days later to get any kind of response.. then I get a call back from some bloke asking questions like I was trying to steal Albo's Fabian card. I wait 5 minutes while they made a decision.. he comes back and says we declined your account request. I ask why, he says Section 9.. there's about 20 different reasons to close an account in that section. They treated me like a criminal.. when they are a bank..a bank, the kings or legalised crime. what a joke.. don't do it, Another bank opened an account for me in 20 minutes.. no dramas..I wonder if I could give them no stars?
