So Camera House is known to be possibly the most expensive place to buy camera equipment. Usually very small stores without much range or brand options in accessories. I've also found their staff on average to be less knowledgeable about photography and equipment (not withstanding certain individuals). They also have less movement on their prices, no matter how much you buy.

When after buying something on Christmas Eve, not having time to go anywhere else, I ended up getting a gift (as can happen at Christmas) where the person already had what I got them or they'd been gifted it by someone else. Now I've never had an issue with a return are any other Camera store, at any time let alone Christmas. In fact I've returned things elsewhere under circumstances where i didn't even expect them to take a return.
At Camera House though, they will not allow you to return anything unless there's something wrong with it. Even unopened, with the receipt.
Under consumer law they are within their rights to do this, but considering this would be a common thing at Christmas I think it's pretty poor form. The best they would do was store credit, so in a tiny store with almost no range of accessories I had to find another gift. Most photographers already have a decent amount of gear too, so it's not like you can just buy anything. Given everything I listed above, and then add this,

I won't ever shop at Camera House again, not even for those last minute requirements and they're the only option.

I will would not recommend that anyone shop here for any reason.
The staff were polite enough, but they can't go against store policy, and all the Camera House stores in Brisbane and some others I believe are owned by one person.

They make perfect Dutch pasport photos which is bounded to verry super particular strict rules. Therefor I believe they can make all the strict regulated European and other countries pasport photos. Eric the manager made our pasport photo. Thank you Eric.

I can't stop raving about this camera store I stumbled upon! The folks there are like photography wizards – not only super knowledgeable but also genuinely excited about helping you find the perfect camera. They weren't just eager to make a sale but were really trying to find the right fit for my needs. The store feels like a treasure trove for camera enthusiasts. Having bought a large amount of expensive camera equipment here over a number of years, recently went in to purchase a small accessory, $10 or so but got a very NEGATIVE attitude with no attempt to look up availability and shrugged shoulders. One customer now gone.

I’ve been into here many times over the years and every time the staff have been so helpful and supportive. Their knowledge is extensive. No question goes unanswered. I had been assisted twice in the last 5 days by Kiara who was fantastic. Very professional and patient. With her help I was finally able to confidently make my final decision on which camera I was going to purchase. Can’t thank her enough.
