I did the Night Sky Secrets Astronomy Dinner and it was magical! Worth every cent! What a treat! Some people were there through a gift voucher....an excellent idea!
Ian and his colleague are so knowledgeable. The group is small with ample opportunity to view the night sky through one of two telescopes. Dinner was delicious and the evening ended around the camp-fire with a steaming hot billy tea, a tim tam and Ian sharing his knowledge of and many stories about our night sky!
.....and if you don't want to drive up there Cindy provides an excellent transport service door to door for a reasonable fee.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Night Sky Secrets in Cairns, and it was truly an exceptional event. From start to finish, it was well-organized, with a prime location chosen to minimize light pollution, making it perfect for stargazing.Ian and his team provided a knowledgeable and engaging presentation. Despite a few clouds, the evening was a success as we had ample opportunity to ask questions and received informative answers, particularly about the cultural significance of the stars to the First Nation people.Having visited planetariums in Germany and Australia, I can confidently say that this natural stargazing event surpasses them all. Experiencing the wonders of the night sky in such an environment allows one to appreciate what it might have been like for ancient humans as they crafted stories about the celestial patterns.Overall, Night Sky Secrets is a must-visit for anyone interested in astronomy or the cultural history of the stars. Highly recommended!

It was to be our first time looking through a telescope, and of course it was a fascinating part of the evening to see the stars much more clearly. But the highlight of our night under the stars was the host himself. Ian is an engaging and friendly host with an incredible knowledge of the stars and planets above us. We learned some indigenous beliefs, Greek mythology, and so much modern knowledge, with Ian explaining everything clearly and answering all the questions we could think of.

The evening included a range of Indian curries and concluded with some billy tea in an amazing setting. It was a really enjoyable evening.

We purchased a telescope from Ian last week and could not be happier. Ian was so generous with his time and knowledge, guiding us through selecting the right equipment for our needs. After purchasing the telescope, we decided to join Ian on his dark sky astronomy tour. In my son’s words, “it was the best night of his life”! The tour is nothing short of amazing. The opportunity to see galaxies and other deep-sky objects with your naked eye is an experience that should be on everyone’s bucket list, and that is just the beginning. The nebulae, globular clusters, and detailed views of the planets offered through Ian’s large-aperture telescope are awe-inspiring. Ian also shares his sacred knowledge of Aboriginal Astronomy stories and Lore, along with astronomy tales from Greek mythology, around the campfire, which profoundly enriches the overall experience. A heartfelt thank you to Ian and his son Taylor for providing our family with a night that will be a cherished lifelong memory.

Cannot recommend doing a tour with Ian (and family) enough! I don't think you will find a more knowledgeable guide. As beginners, we didn't know what to expect but absolutely loved it. We love camping and looking at the night sky - and now we know a lot more about what we are looking at! The food was also awesome - and there was a good selection to choose from. This should be on everyones 'to-do' list.
