Very surprised to find a shower, flush toilets, basin and running water on site. Not usual for the off grid QLD national parks sites. Off-road access to the beach and a beautiful 12km beach drive to Woodgate. The sites are quite small, mostly flat and well spaced out. Good shading, but enough sunny areas close by to allow for solar panels. Thumbs up from me

Quite an ok camping area but no fires allowed so you do get eaten by midges and they allow driving on the beach so it’s far from relaxing with young blokes trying to roll their 4WD’s , won’t be coming back.

Beautiful place to stay - drive in soft sand but easy with a 4x4, great location, couldn’t fault the amenities - cold shower and flushable toilets that are well maintained, beautiful beach and wildlife. Insect repellent definitely needed for the mossies sand flies.

One of our favorite campgrounds in the area, it can be a bit of a treacherous drive in, but despite many warnings we had no issues making it in our Audi Q5 SUV. If you're worried, air down your tires, lock your diffs or put it into Offroad mode, and keep your speed. When in doubt, gas it out!!!

Quiet campground, flush toilets, cold showers, 3 minute walk to a beautiful and never ending white sand beach. We had the beach to ourselves 3 days in a row. Easy access to the beach with a vehicle as well, although once again, 4X4 with some higher clearance is needed, or you need to be experienced at driving in sand with an AWD car.

Main annoyances are the damn turkeys, and the lack of privacy for the sites, however we realize that 99% of camping in Australia is done with caravans; we were the only people there with just a tent.

Either way, we recommend this campsite and while a bit exhilarating, the road was manageable if you have experience offroading.

Burrum Point camping area is a great place to camp. There are only a limited number of marked sites. A 4X4 is needed to get to the campground! A very relaxing place as the large crowds bypass it. Everyone hopes it will remain the same in the future. The sites are level, sandpegs are recommended. The campground is only a short walk to the Pacific Ocean. The vegetation screens out the offshore winds. It is advisable to bring tropical strength bug repellent at any time of the year. If you ever plan to come here, please be decent!
