AVOID AVOID AVOID!

If youre a backpacker looking for work I would strongly recommend against coming here!

The work itself is pretty hard but bearable- the problem is with the incompetent management specifically Michelle the supervisor. She is incredibly rude and treats everyone with zero respect- including outright calling people stupid, shouting at them whilst they're trying to have a drink etc. She pretty much never helps if the lanes are going too crazy- the one time I saw her help she got so overwhelmed that she turned the machine off.

If you do end up working there make sure that you don't work quickly as it will only result in you being called lazy and being rostered off for not running to help the other lanes straight away. if youre in control of your lane and avocados aren't falling all over the floor that means you're not working hard enough. You will only ever get negative feedback.

There is close to no training when you get there- there is a sheet of paper hung above every lane explaining types of avocado defects but you don't actually ever have time to read it.

We were told that if we work until 5 we will usually get a second break after lunch as it is a physical job and lunch is usually somewhere between 12-1 however on multiple occasions we were working until almost 5 with no second break.

There is absolutely no communication. you are usually rostered on 6:30 until 5pm but everyday you work different hours, you never know how long you'll be working or when youll be working until the day before/on the day.
I came there to do my 88 days however it wasn't even good for that as the work is weather dependent and inconsistent. If it rains you will not work the next day or work very little which I understand as the avocados can't be picked because the cherry pickers get stuck in the mud however the management will lie to you and say you'll be working a full day and end up with 3 hours.

Michelle will often randomly shout something at the end of the day whilst people have ear plugs in and the loud machine is on- absolutely noone ever knows what she's saying which seems to annoy her.

overall, dont destroy your mental health working at this farm- there's better work out there.

I bought Simpson Farms mango pulp from Spudshed, Perth. As a family we were waiting for the mango season and for eating the pulp but unfortunately the taste was horrible. The mango don't taste like the real mango. Its far from the original taste. I am disappointed with the mango pulp. Would not recommend or buy again.
