Townsville residents do not bother to make contact or ask for this company serviced as they are NOT interested in physically quoting on small jobs on site. They fail to realise that reputation is huge and the little jobs keep a small business operating. Have now sourced a company that will. Thanks but no thanks 👎

My husband is in the landscaping/greenkeeping business and suggested I use this company to construct a set of new gates for our home as he knew of other people in the industry who have used them.
I engaged this company in April 2023 to make a set of gates. I paid a deposit and was given a time frame of 6 weeks. At 10 weeks I was informed the boilermaker was in hospital for 2 weeks and was informed they would get on to it straight away. Again, after another 10 weeks I was informed the gates were complete but waiting to be powder coated and the delay this time was the sales rep was in hospital for 2 weeks and the paperwork was misplaced. I was given another time frame of 3 weeks. At nearly 6 months waiting and being given excuses I was informed that they had recently been to my house to measure up the gates. When questioned why they were measuring up the gates if the gates were completed, I was informed they were checking the gate measurements were correct. Mid October 2023 (6 months later) and one attempted break and enter, my husband spoke with a company representative and was informed they had not even commenced construction of the gates. At no point did this company contact me to say there was a delay or that they could not fulfil my order. Instead, they just continued to blatantly lie to me every time I questioned the delivery date of the product I ordered. I cancelled my order and received my deposit. I would not recommend this business!!

Had the worst experience with this company

We needed half our property fenced for our dog. A deposit was paid in Oct 2021 and understandably work was planned for Feb/March due to COVID and current workload. Granted we have a difficult property to fence given landscaping but a property inspection assured us that it wouldn’t be a problem.

Since then, there was no communication from Award about the timing of the job and we were forced to repeatedly contact Award to chase updates. The staff member answering the phone was repeatedly rude to my partner and always told us somebody else would contact us.

Finally the time came for the job to be done and Sergio contacted us on a Friday asking if the job could be commenced the following Monday. This was difficult because he had asked us to clear trees/vegetation from our property boundary prior to the job, but we agreed as we had been waiting a while for the fence. We were then told on Saturday that a contractor had fallen ill and they were unable to attend. Sergio confirmed that we would start in 2 weeks time.

The weekend prior to commencing the job on Monday we completed all the requested clearance of the property boundary, further compromising our fence for our dog. On Monday, nobody showed up. There was no communication. My partner contacted Award who said that Sergio would contact us later that day. No phone call. I then called the following day and vented my frustration. The staff member on the phone continually blamed contractors for not commencing the job. My main issue was the horrible communication. Not a single apology was expressed from Award during this phone call. I again was assured Sergio would call later that afternoon. No phone call.

My partner contacted Sergio the next day who then said the job was too difficult to complete and offered our deposit back. Absolutely horrible experience. Would not recommend

I rang a few fencing businesses and found them rude or unresponsive. Sergio called me back and talked me through my options and discussed the best fit for my needs. The workers who came to do the job were friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. They even helped me choose a suitable mailbox and attached it to the completed fence. Very happy with your service thank you all at Award Fencing.
