From what I gather this power station is a gas turbine type, essentially it's like a jet turbine that uses kerosene. Air is drawn into the engine , compressed and sent into the combustion chamber to react with kerosene. The hot , fast, expanding gas now turns a turbine connected to a generator.

These kinds of power station are much smaller and very clean compared to coal fired power station, they are used for peak loads ( short term use to provide power during high power use). Water is used to control flame temperature to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides being produced in the combustion chamber.

With combustion chamber temperatures so closely monitored the burning process can be very efficient. Coal fired power stations are by rights slightly more efficient as they can capture waste heat but the footprint is huge and thousands of tonnes of toxic ash is created and not to mention they can take days to start up from cold - gas turbines might take minutes to come on line.

one day this might be fuelled with natural gas via a pipeline.
