When my grandmother died a few years ago all her daughters and grand daughters divided up her possessions and for some reason my dad rescued a gold necklace that he had bought for her. He gave it to me saying that maybe I could have something made. At the time I was only familiar with retail jewellery shops. Upon stumbling across some videos made for Bartlett master jewellers, I saw Jay talking about family and legacy, working with his dad and his son in keeping the family trade going and remembered my grandmothers necklace hanging on my wall. It would be awesome to have something from her, my dad and from me to pass on down my line and if anyone could relate to my intention it would be Jay. The lion is important to me because it represents knowing who you are and never losing sight of it regardless of the challenge being of good character and having integrity. Jay took me through the design phase and I was especially grateful that he reused my grandmothers necklace and an old ring I had previously purchased to make this unique piece which will be with me and eventually be passed on to those coming after me.
