The 'beach', much like the whole of Yarrabah, is very rough. Stray dogs, wild horses, rubbish, loud music, and a very tense atmosphere as the locals stare the odd visitor down.

Yarrabah is an Indigenous village located some 10km from Cairns' waterfront in a straight line. Went there thinking the experience would be somewhat educational or culturally enriching.

And an experience it was - the place gives out kind of Alice Springs vibes with the younger crowd hooning recklessly on scooters, quads, and other transportation. Burnt down cars, rubbish, stray animals and loud party music everywhere. The waterfront resembles a wrecking yard full of Holden Commodore parts, it is fair to say we did not stay for long.

This place is an absolute troubled dump. Avoid at all costs. Was chased out and questioned by locals for being there.

Thought I'd see what Yarrabah is like. The beach was covered in rubbish, a literal horde of teenagers glared at me as I drove past, saw several dogs and got stuck on a culdesac. I thought I was going to die, avoid the entire Cairns region and especially Yarrabah.

Lots of potential. Stray dogs and smell of dead animals was the first to greet us.
