There are a handful of wineries along Porongurup Road in the Porongurup National Park. The Castle Rock Estate is located very near to the Castle Rock and Granite Skywalk carpark. Their Cellar Door is open from 10am to 4.30pm daily. They offer wine tasting and bottle sales.

We recently stopped by and tried several of their Rieslings, finding one just perfect to take back and enjoy in our apartment rental in Albany. The RS21 has a nice crispy, fruity flavour balanced with a bit of sweetness. It was a beautiful wine that tasted great.

This is a perfectly located winery for those planning to hike up to the Granite Skywalk who want to do a bit of wine tasting afterwards. We'd gladly stop here to taste more of their wines and buy another bottle next time around.

An award winning winery in Porongurup which does excellent reisling and pinot noir. We went there for their award winning Pinot and was not disappointed and came away with a case of it. Lovely little cellar door and well worth the visit.

Disappointing experience. Was really looking forward to checking out the winery’s in this region after the most fabulous morning hiking up to the granite skywalk. Should not have bothered with castle rock winery . The old guy at the cellar door was disinterested dismissive grumpy. We were a party of 4, and the only patrons. He gave us no info unless we asked . Time to get a new front man who is welcoming and enthusiastic I think! We had hoped to stay for a platter and a couple of bottles wine instead we couldn’t wait to get out of there . Tasted 4 wines bought a bottle and left .

The wines were amazing. Castle Rock Estate Riesling was exceptional and is destined to my cellar; not to be consumed for at least 10 years. I would rate their Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cab Sav very highly indeed. Because of the quality of the wines I found it hard to rate experience 4/5 but rate it I must. The experience was dampened by the hostess presenting the wines. She was no ambassador for the wines or the winery. Unless asked, no information was forthcoming. Even when asked we received only brief snippets. We felt raced through the tasting and found ourselves leaving far sooner than we would have preferred (after ordered our wine of course). Had she been anything like Sarah at Dukes I’m sure I would have purchase three times as much.
