The gin tasting was fun and I enjoyed the flavours (navy strength was my personal favourite), but $6/7 per tasting is very expensive. I did notice someone posted a review saying if you buy a bottle, the tasting is free. I don’t know if this is the case as we weren’t offered this. I likely would have bought a bottle if this was offered. I didn’t purchase as I had already spent a lot of money on the tasting.

A pleasurable afternoon spent.
The place was very busy and it was obviously understaffed. However, the lady who served us was happy, pleasant and knowledgeable. She did an amazing job as the only server on a wet day and she definitely needs to be congratulated on her professional and gracious performance.
The gin was an absolute delight. I certainly did not expect the flavours to be so different. We will enjoy the gin we purchased!
Highly recommend this place.

We went on 10/4/24. $5 per taste of each gin you want seems a bit much at 15ml per pour. The whiskeys were $10-15 per 15ml pour (or you could get a flight) No real explanation of the gins or whiskeys however the same lady I overheard explaining them all to another couple. Granted we have been before and walked in saying we wanted to buy a bottle of the darkest winter but even then not once did anyone ask if we would like a run down. Ordered food and a second serve of chips didn't come to the table and I had to follow up to get a refund at the end, again no apology as such and it seemed somewhat of an inconvenience. We were comped for some part of the whiskey tastings. Husband got a flight for $45 and we were comped about $20 from the whiskey tasting flight - unsure why it wasn't all comped being that we bought the bottle as most places do. Seems service could be done a little better. Toilets weren't amazing. The most beautiful person was the lady in the kitchen who bought out our first serve of chips and chorizo etc and our second serve of chorizo! Super friendly and such a lovely vibe from her, she should be out the front selling the booze and chatting to the customers, it's a waste of her personality leaving her in the kitchen (even though the food she was bringing out was amazing)!! She even told us about a beautiful bakery in Albany where the bread came from. Wish I got her name she was simply wonderful.

Stopped in for a tasting and it was great! Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and the whisky is so delish! If we didn't have to fly home to Sydney we would have bought much more. Thanks for a great visit!

We visited Limetrees to taste their stock gin.
We were a little surprised to find that they also distill whisky, bourbon (equivalents) and vodka.
A lovely lady by the name of Emily provided all of the information required for our tasting, which in hindsight was extremely accurate and very well presented.
Despite having a liquor cabinet that is already too full, we purchased some gin, whiskey, bourbon and vodka from Sandra, who was also super helpful.
We go to lots of boutique breweries and distilleries and are very happy that we did not bypass this one.
Well worth a visit to enjoy a tasting and some fantastic produce if you need to stock up.

We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon, so it wasn't that busy whilst we were there - plenty of parking. You can't miss the copper pot still out front when you're driving along Frenchman Bay Road. The Great Southern Distilling Company was the first distillery in Western Australia to make single malt whisky (2004) and is now known for its premium whisky.

The tasting room/bar is nice, warm and relaxing - plenty of tables available, as well as an outdoor seating area. As we arrived in the afternoon, we missed the distillery tour (daily at 11:00am). I know that they sell a great range of malt whisky, but what I was really interested in was sampling their sour mash whisk(e)y. My wife loves the Giniversity gins (having been to the Margaret River and Swan Valley sites), so she was happy to try some she hadn't tasted before. The gin & whisky menus are fairly self-explanatory - with a description of what to expect: smell, taste and finish. It also clearly states the price of a tasting glass (15ml), small bottle (100ml), regular bottle (350ml) and large bottle (700ml) is, so you know what it will cost before you order. They also sell a range of bar snacks (olives, chips, bread & dips, and pizzas) but it is the alcohol that we were after.

Out hostess was very helpful in not only telling us about the whiskies and gins but we she arrived with our selection of spirits; she explained the best way of sampling them and how to get the most out of the experience. My wife loved the dried fruit that came with each of the different gins - really did elevate the taste.

Needless to say, we walked away with some tiger snake whiskey and an orange liqueur, which they discounted by the sampling price.

This is a really pleasant way to spend a few hours on a sunny day in Albany, not really for kids, more for those who appreciated well curated spirits.
