We traveled from Perth just to come here and the 5 hour drive was well worth it. We were rewarded with some of the best examples of local produce done well.

We ordered the octopus, tiger prawns, gnocchi, croquettes and beetroot. It’s not hard to see why the octopus has become a favourite - tender and with a slightly smoky flavour, delicious.

Drinks: extensive, wines from local wineries; well crafted cocktails.

We enjoyed it so much we returned the following night to try other dishes we had missed.

Pro-tip, grab a seat outside when the weather is warm to enjoy the water views.

Don’t miss : Octopus, Prawns, Potato Pave, Gnocchi, House-made pickles, Cheesecake- really you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Decor: love the colourful jars of House Pickles overlooking the bar.

A funky and trendy place to eat and spend time with friends. A wine bar feel with a relaxed upmarket atmosphere. The food was the best I have had anywhere, fresh, full of flavour, well presented and delicious. The potato pavè is a must have!! Cheeses were amazing, 3 cheeses plus condiments that enhance the cheese and experience. The small menu means the food is spot on. Had the cheesecake for dessert and it was melt in your mouth and the perfect way to finish the evening. Great selection of wines to compliment the food. The service is friendly and on point with assisting when needed and looking after you. Highly recommend as a place to go for dinner.

Absolutely sensational. Food and service were exceptional, great energy. The gnocchi, octopus, steak, Spanish omelette, burrata were all divine. And the cheesecake is one of the best desserts I have ever had. I am always so happy to find places like this, that I look forward to coming back ⭐️

What a great find for a work trip to Albany! Service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing - also super patient with our group who could not stop chatting long enough to order! Quality of food was excellent and choice leaning towards all local produce was varied without being too much. Drinks menu was exhaustive and again lent itself to mostly very local produce which I personally favour whenever I travel. Can't wait to be back.

Amazing food , drinks and superb service.
We tried the wagu meat and chicken breast, which were delicious, very well cooked. The basque cheescake with an espresso martini is also a must if you eat here ! 🤤

What a wonderful experience ! We are traveling around Australia for 1 year and Sotao is definitely the best restaurant we have ever tried down under !
Every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
It was a real pleasure to eat here.

Amazing food and drinks!! The food was tasty and lived up to the reviews but only reject was not finding this place sooner!! Will be recommending to everyone and it's a must when in Albany!
