Old tired, not clean . Torn and broken furniture.

Old food left in fridge and kitchen , cheap shampoo for toiletries..

Good points: location, convenient, owner quick to respond.
Bad points:
- internet didn’t work upon arrival. Owner told us it was a network issue. Turned out the owner just needed a new modem. This was found out only after having to spend an hour of my own time on the phone to the internet provider, and then having a technician come to the property. The owner told us the technician didn’t need to enter the property which seemed strange to us, and sure enough he did need to enter the property and did so at 8am (good thing we were already awake and out of bed).
- instructions on how to use the weird lock on the front door were only emailed to us once we arrived. Of course we had no internet connection and didn’t receive the email, so were unable to use the front door until the owners son came to the house regarding the internet and showed us how to use it the lock.
- code of conduct. Understandable that there needs to be rules so people don’t have parties and trash the place. A code of conduct would be fine with us if we received it once. However, we received the code of conduct after booking, then again in an email, it was provided in the ‘welcome’ booklet and also printed and placed in a large frame hanging on the living room wall. This was off putting for us as it was impossible to make yourself at home with a huge code of conduct picture frame staring back at you.
- every single light switch had ‘turn off after use’ printed on. I understand wanting to keep bills low but that’s ridiculous and did not make you feel at home.
- we were told the owner comes to put out the bins on bin day, this didn’t happen and so the garage where the bins are kept became very smelly! We would have happily put them out if we knew they weren’t going to.
- minimal supplies provided. 1 toilet roll per toilet, no paper towels or basic complimentary supplies such as milk. Only one wine glass which was chipped and no small plates.
- the house appeared clean but was not properly cleaned as in under beds, behind microwave etc were all really dusty.
- you can hear every noise throughout the house. Birds on the roof, air con is loud, if anyone speaks you can hear it from downstairs, very thin walls.
- tumble drier didn’t work
- limited kitchen utensils if you’re wanting to cook proper meals
- only one bath towel per person provided.
- shower in main bathroom was terrible, took ages for hot water to come through and very low water pressure so took a very long time to wash hair!
