Founded in 1993 as a split from Wiluna which was deemed to be lacking the capability to serve these extremely remote communities.
Unfortunately the Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku has been plagued by parasitic management that has extracted vast sums in executive salaries while providing zero service on the ground to some of the most financially disadvantaged people in the entire country.
To make matters worse, this parasitic executive class are not even on the ground. They “work from home” which is usually on the coast, thousands of km from their actual workplace. Indeed, many have only spent a week or less out of an entire year onsite, in situ.
Totally unacceptable and utterly fraudulent and an ongoing outrage that has continued for over half a decade with no end to the corrupt rorting in sight.
A shame and a national disgrace. The parasitic executives belong in prison, stealing from the poor is a sin so abominable that they should never be allowed into any public office again.

Recently passed through the Shire. Place is a tip with little to no evidence of any effective community services. As to tourist facilities such as roadside rest steps or similar along the Great Central Road, nothing. A disgrace.
