This entry-free Museum is an absolute must-see for anyone with a scintilla of interest in maritime history. It's a captivating journey through Western Australia's seafaring past, spread across three impressive floors. I was utterly enthralled by the sheer scale of the vessels on display. You can get up close and personal with these behemoths of the sea, truly appreciating their craftsmanship and the sheer audacity of their voyages. The free exhibits alone offer a riveting glimpse into the state's nautical heritage, making it an unmissable experience. Don't just take my word for it; embark on your own exploration of this remarkable museum – you won't be disappointed.

I went along to the museum not really knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised to see the virtual showing of ‘Josephine’s Garden’ which was a beautifully put together visual and historic documentary of the acquisition of flora and fauna from the Antipodean landscape. An amazing reminder of just how far and to the incredible expense the rich would go to ensure their legacy and their place in the world…

I went to WA Maritime Museum to attend the event "Josephine's Gardens." The event was informative, educational & fun. I also watched documentaries in the Globe. It was very interesting to watch on a spherical screen. I would recommend adults & children to visit the WA Maritime Museum.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Fremantle.

The museum isn’t particularly large, so you only need to allow a few hours to get around it. The main attraction is without a doubt Australia II, which won the Americas Cup back in 1983.

Fremantle has a rich Maritime history, and overall, the museum tells its story very well. It could probably do with a few more interactive exhibits, especially for kids.

The staff and volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly. Get in early to avoid parking hassles, or catch public transport.

Lots of really cool boats and information! I came during summer so it was free! They also had the Josephine’s garden exhibition and a photography exhibition, these were awesome too!
