UPDATED - Make sure you view their response!

NOTE THEY DO NOT DISPUTE THE WORKMANSHIP COMPLAINED OF. Photo's show what can be photographed.

They have responded with accusations. This is a further example of what we experienced over our journey with KC. At least they are consistent! 🙂 All accusations in their response are untrue.

Decided to go with this business as they were more expensive so we thought that would ensure a higher level of service. Initially we were impressed as the designer was engaging and very good. The design was drawn up ( including a bulkhead) and then the contract was drawn up (including images in the contract of a bulkhead). Little did we know that through some process, the bulkhead - even though thoroughly and extensively discussed and illustrated during the entire process and the drawing up of the contract - was NOT part of what they envisioned. Ultimately they tried to tell us the builder didn't quote for it and so therefore it wasn't part of the scope of works - this was not apparent to us at any stage during the initial stages and only became apparent once KC packed up and left and we were left with a massive ugly hole.

The early stages went smoothly and on time and things looked to be going great. Upon "completion", the bulkhead was not done (the first time we became aware there might be an issue regarding the bulkhead), some of the shelves could not even bear weight (they did come and put in some plastic plugs for that), the plastering was butchered, the tiling job on the splashback was of low quality, the control unit to a fan which was removed was left hanging from the plaster with the wiring to the fuse box still live, two of the kickboards were barely attached to the extent that even slight contact felt like they were going to fall off and the trim on some of the units started to peel away within a couple of months of "completion".

Our attempts to address our issues were frustrated by the fact that for about 12 months, KC would not engage with us other than to tell us we needed to go to the respective tradespeople ourselves as it had nothing to do with them. The tradesmen did the same and just told us it was nothing to do with them and to deal with KC - that old infinite loop.

It became apparent very quickly that KC clearly had no intention of making any attempt to even acknowledge there may be issues (apart from "generously" offering to stick a bit of glue under the trim that was already peeling away).

We felt our only option was to not make the final payment of about $1,600.00 as this was a "completion payment" and the job had not been finished to the standard we were led to expect. We thought that money may be able to go part of the way to completing our kitchen to the standard we had been led to believe KC would provide.

After 12 months of refusing to engage with us apart from offering to re-glue the veneer, KC's only response was to pull out all stops and threaten us in relation to the final payment...still with only a vague reference to "warranty activation" which seemed to suggest that we could pursue warranty claims but only if we paid the final little payment.

As such we paid the outstanding amount as it was clear KC were interested only in getting the $1,600.00 (after a year remember),. However, this was NOT to activate the warranty as KC stated. We will bear any expense with completing our kitchen as I have no intention of letting KC anywhere near our house again.
During my discussions with KC, they even made a veiled threat that they would reserve the right to consider legal action depending on my action, after I pointed out that I felt sufficiently motivated to exercise my rights as a consumer. I am not deterred by these tactics and intend to not be gagged by such a threat.

I would advise getting your own legal advice prior to signing any contract with them unless you are fully confident you are fully aware of ALL of the conditions. We were lazy and we are paying the price.

The initial design process was good, initial installation process was good but all downhill from there. Poor workmanship from tradies they recommended, including the electrician and tiler. Laminate peeling within a year. Kickboards not properly connected so they move and are crooked. Shelves which are wobbly.

But that's nothing compared to their attitude when we pointed out THEIR MISTAKE in preparing the scope of works for our kitchen. All diagrams, 3D renderings and all discussions included a bulkhead to ceiling over one row of cabinets. There was never a consideration of not having a bulkhead. But they failed to write it into the scope of works. So when the job was not completed, they blamed the builder. Then tried to push it back on us because THEY had not included it in the scope of works that was in our contract -- despite the diagrams and 3D renderings which were part of the contract CLEARLY showing the bulkhead.

They absolutely have not taken any responsibility for their incompetence and threatened us with legal action if we didn't pay the invoice that was payable on completion -- despite us not having a project that has been completed.

They went silent on us for 12 months, not addressing any issues, before coming back demanding final payment. Disgusting behaviour.

A huge thanks to Alan and the team at Osborne Park – we are so happy with our new kitchen! We have been really impressed with everything from the design phase through to completion. The quality of work is excellent, trades were easy to get in touch with and very friendly, they always came when they said they would (or in some cases, even earlier which is great!), and everything was completed as we planned, and on time! There was a minor issue with the handles, which was promptly and effortlessly sorted for us. Would recommend, and will look to use again for any future renovations.

Greg was really helpful in designing our vision, but then unexpectedly left the company before the install, and there were lots of discussed elements that the tradesmen knew nothing about. So we had to make lots of compromises in the end. Some shoddy work also; our newly installed (heavy) rangehood completely fell out one night which was so dangerous and broke our splashback. Huge water leak as plumbing wasn’t tightened which ended in an insurance claim. The project manager didn’t seem interested in communicating or resolving problems. Would not recommend this company.

We wanted more storage space in our kitchen. Jason Moscarda (designer) assisted us with the design to meet our needs.
The final plan provided an increase of drawers and cupboards, incorporating the placements of new appliances and using quality door hinges and drawer rails.
Installation of the kitchen units and appliances were completed to our expectations. Nik Avery coordinated the installation work and did well to have the post installation snags fixed.
We are happy to have used Kitchen Craftsmen and would be happy to recommend them.

I've had 2 experiences with Kitchen Craftsman Osborne Park that were slightly different. They did our kitchen remodel around 2014 in our previous home and I found them fantastic to deal with and was very happy with the end product, with price and quality. In 2022 we went back to get a design and quote and had a slightly different experience and unfortunately did not "click" with the designer we met in store. This led us to using another company for our second kitchen. The reason I am giving 5 stars however, is because the regional sales manager, Simon, reached out to genuinely discuss where they had gone wrong and understand what had not worked out for us in our 2nd design consultation. After talking with Simon, I now feel that if we probably could have gone to another designer within their company, and had the same wonderful experience we had the first time with Kitchen Craftsman. Not every person may see your vision, so my feedback is that this is a good company, but like everything, you may just need to find the right designer within their team for your project. Their products, quality and professionalism I believe are still high. Thank you Simon for taking the time to reach out, I believe how a company works with feedback and problem solving is the best indicator of how good they are as there are always hic ups in projects. 5 stars. ☺️

I had a fantastic experience dealing with Kitchen Craftsmen. All work and delivery was on time and of exceptional standards. The designer was most helpful and would regularly call to check in, which made any alterations easy to accommodate. The installer very punctual and very professional. Thankyou Kitchen Craftsmen for a easy kitchen renovation!

Not only were we very disappointed with the final finish of our new kitchen after a long, drawn out saga, now after 12 months we have a leaking kitchen sink waste which flooded the cabinets below.
I rang Kitchen Craftsman and was told the plumber would contact me for access and repair.
I then received a call from Kitchen Craftsman to inform me that they are unable to reach the plumber involved in the original work however they could try to get another plumber to attend at our cost!!!
What a joke.
We have crooked overhead cabinets, non symmetrical framework and now a kitchen sink that leaks.
Upon my first 2 star review they invited me to ring them … if they gave a hoot - they already had our contact details.
I’m revising our review from 2 to 1 star now due to the lack of after sales service and avoiding taking responsibility for their final product.
If I could do zero stars I would.
I definitely would not use this company again nor would I recommend them.
Big $ for not much except frustration and disappointment.
