I had a really difficult time at this school and as such, I don’t even know where to start. I can’t fit everything into this review so I’ve tried to shorten it!

For the religious crowd, I’m not sure this school is for you. It is advertised as a Christian College, but I started my journey at MCC a devout Christian and finished it wanting nothing more to do with the Church. The Bible is cherry picked to further agendas and the core message of loving thy neighbour is lost. The Christian Living classes were so minimal that I didn’t feel as though there was much religious influence at all. Even some of the more religious kids in my year towards the end of our schooling career became frustrated with the lack of Christian ideology.

For female students, you are not a person! Just a future wife - don’t forget that. But if you do, don’t worry, you’ll always have chaplains to remind you as they interrupt your health classes to let you know that “women shouldn’t aspire to be leaders” as we were designed by God to have children and be good wives. And be careful, if you get any other ideas you might end up killing yourself just like girls our chaplains went to school with. If you ever experience sexual misconduct just remember boys will be boys and even if half your cohort witnessed it, there are two sides to every story. Don’t have your shorts too short! Because instead of using it as a lesson on breaching contracts, you’ll simply be told you’re tempting your male teachers. In fact, a teacher who was found guilty by court of misconduct with a student actually once cornered and screamed at me, having to be pulled off by another teacher because I had questioned why our rubric (and as such the goal posts and standards for us) was being changed half way through the year, to my knowledge he never faced any consequences. We never received evidence of the formal training he’d allegedly sat through. At least the court case is on record!

Ed Support is non existent here. Whilst some teachers were understanding, the majority either didn’t believe in it or thought it was caused by vaccines… Yes, I was actually told that by a staff member. Twice I went to the office to get my medication in the midst of bad panic attacks and was told they lost the key to the medical cabinet so “sorry!” you can’t have your medication. Once they’d lost my pills entirely! During my ATAR exams I had been given an incomplete form to fill out and was assured they’d submit it only to find out I wasn’t allowed to take my medication in because they hadn’t submitted the forms. Of course the school took no responsibility for this and blamed me, telling my parents I hadn’t read the form properly, not that I genuinely was given an incomplete document. My needs are so minor, and from experience with my younger sisters, they cannot handle students with higher need levels.

Once on a camp the boys deemed it appropriate to have a wanking competition. The girls involved in this were assured the school would speak to the parents about it. Our parents were never contacted. Once on a camp during mountain biking, the teachers lost numerous students, myself included. The camps are not included in your fees as advertised - you’ll need to pack food, cooking equipment, sleeping bags etc. that’s fine, but don’t tell parents camps are included in fees when they’re not, and maybe don’t promise full supervision either!

I have to give the school two stars, solely for the few teachers who genuinely care. I know this has been a negative review but I don’t want to ignore that although they’re the minority, there are some good, kind teachers. I acknowledge also that In the time since I graduated, there is a new principal, so things may be different - though I still know and talk to some people who go there and it sounds quite similar. I have had meetings with the school more times than I can count and it didn’t change anything. I think that there are other schools out there that your child would benefit from a lot more, so if you’re considering MCC; reconsider…

Went here for 11 years. Nice teachers. Nice life experience and culture *. Probably better than most schools. But improvements can always be made. I regret time spent there. Bullying and bureaucracy, religious school, small student numbers might make it difficult to make friends. But it's all a bit pointless. Do homeschooling or something. I remember the good times, but move on, hastily. If you're reading this, let it be your sign to go too.

Very poor experience, first of all I would like to point out that the school sirens don't even work correctly... how does a school propose to work without sirens. Anyways, another disappointing feature of this school was actually having to turn up to the place, having to turn up to a place with people who get paid to be nice is actually disappointing, I would rather be in antarctica with some penguins and freeze than I would at this school. However, the thing I am most disappointed at was the severe lack of lack of homework and the shortened break times and lengthened learning time (which by the way involves associating with people who get paid to be nice). Overall this school has a severe lack of love from students and a very lengthy learning time, would not recommend.

ruined the timetable by shortening lunch, school was better when I first came before they started changing things, poorly managed, and took away all our couches so there's nowhere to sit anymore. Then complained when kids starting playing sports during recess and lunch

We've been at the school 6 years and have really enjoyed the caring spirit here.. the kids and parents we've met along the way are lovely people as are the staff here. We are not Christians and never feel like religion is forced upon you. Beautiful grounds, very nature based.
Highly recommend this school!

My children have been at MCC for over 7 year we all find the school to be such an awesome, loving, caring environment. The senior campus now coming together in leaps and bounds with an extensive new learning area being built. We are very blessed with the location 100 acres of lush bush land. A fantastic basketball program, and 6 teams that play in Morley each Saturday. Bush rangers program the kids really enjoy. A great way to let the children know the lessons are beginning with up to date songs chosen by the children. So many more new and exciting things to come.
Thank you MCC

Ignore the comments below half of them are complaining that they shortened recess by 3 minutes, Its a Great School With awesome teachers, The only reason canteen is expensive is because of the year 11 home economics students who work there and serve food and the school has to pay them, This is an Awesome School That I Absolutely love
