Good place! My 96 yr old mum is a resident there and they treat her pretty well even though she sometimes thinks otherwise. But she would like to have a nurse there 24/7. Not really possible! They have a caring attitude but some of their less qualified nursing assistants need some better training regarding issues such as infection control and cross contamination.

My mum is a resident here and it seems like a nice place as far as nursing homes go. Not always great having to visit mum in a home but it's the best place for her at her stage in life.

Definitely one of the best aged care facilities in the region. Staff are more often than not friendly and helpful, smiling and enjoying their work, and the receptionist has got to be one of the sweetest ladies around. Top marks Avondale.

Great access for delivering equipment, nice staff, good peaceful atmosphere. Good security for the safety of residents. Although it is a multi-storey building, there is level access to each level. Looks nice and is bigger than a first glance would suggest.

Smells faintly of stale urine and old people...
Furnishings and decor in rooms are fine and not aged. Building and gardens are well kept. Staff are friendly and seem nice. Food appears nice.
However...
Nan is bed bound but does spend some time in a wheelchair. Somehow both bones in one Nan's lower leg were broken and this was not identified for several days until the extent of the bruising and swelling concerned staff. Because of her dementia she did not recall how it happened though.

It's a very nice place .the nurses are great & it's very clean .best aged care place
