To be avoided at all costs, especially for backpackers!

We went there because our van had an issue with the coolant. When they returned the vehicle, their verdict was a blown head gasket—even though they had done the test themselves, and it came back negative. Despite this, they insisted it was still a head gasket issue but claimed they couldn’t do anything because they don’t repair head gaskets.

Final bill? $500 for something that was obviously false! We went to Profleet right after, and the van was fixed in a single day with a part that cost us only $50!

Unfortunately, we weren’t the only ones—several friends also had the same experience, with the shop falsely diagnosing a blown head gasket every time!

Stop scamming people—it’s disgraceful! Find another profession!

Don’t trust them! These mob failed my vehicle DOT inspection due to “window tinting being too dark”. We immediately took the car to Mick at Tint-a-car down the road. Mick advised it was fine after a quick glance, but tested it for us anyway and it was within legal requirements. Mick said to go back to Hunter for reassessment and said he is happy for Hunter to call him if they have an issue. Sure enough we go back and they say it failed when they initially tested it due to doing it in the shed, only the rear window mind you, none of the others. They then reckon they needed a couple more hours to do the report.

No one even called to let us know that it had failed we would have saved so much time, lucky my partner followed up with querying how it was going or we’d be out of time and have to travel the 200km home with another temp movement permit.

I knew they were FOS because Tintworks SA installed the tint in 2014 and backed it with lifetime warranty.

Then to top it off they stuck a munted bumper sticker on my car without permission.

If everyone was a crooked as these mob I’d not only wasted a heap of time, but also money.

Long story short, go somewhere else. These people could end up wasting heaps of your time and money.

Hunter Mechanical was fantastic, took my car in for an issue not starting. Just a few hours later I received a call stating it was fixed. I had also asked for a tyre rotation and they stated that it was no problem and would be done that day also. A few months prior I took it in for a general service and was also happy with the service I received not only on the car but at the front desk as well. The staff here are warm and welcoming and are very informative when going over the information they’ve found regarding your car. I will definitely be using hunter mechanical for any future incidents aswell. Fantastic team & service highly recommend.

The Hunter team is absolutely incredible! I really appreciate all your help. Communication is very smooth throughout the process—they even offered me a lift home and picked me up, thank you Kevin. The inspection was completed very quickly. The lady at reception is so kind; when I finally received my new car plate, I found that part of the car front is damaged, making it impossible to install. I called to see if they could assist, and this lady fixed it in a few seconds! When I was going to pay for this outstanding service, she told me don’t worry about it. Wow, thank you guys all so much. I wish you continue success and growth.

$550 for a service all they did was engine oil n filter, had the car all day told me air filter was dirty but didn’t call to tell to replace it didn’t do the air box clips up lucky I realise could of dusted the engine. Piss poor service
