I recently discovered this park. It is amazing to find such a "natural" park in suburban Perth. Whilst there is a large grassy area for dogs to run free, there are also "bush tracks" which are open to dogs (who need to be on a leash). The park also has a playground, toilets, and a water fountain.

Great for nature lovers to freely explore all the natural settings and some newly planted native plants along many unsealed walkways.
Dogs are generally welcome to roam around the park except for the enclosed playground!
Cars have to be parked on grassed areas without proper parking areas beside the street except for the disabled!

Was told about this park by a fellow dog owner I met at a cafe. I couldn’t believe this hidden gem! Exercise equipment, massive areas of turf for the dogs to run free off-lead and well designated signage for pathways requiring dogs to be walked on lead. We explored the whole place today and it’s safe to say we’ll be coming here regularly. When we arrived a coffee van was packing up (will go earlier next time) and it’s so nice to see the planting regeneration efforts being made in the area. I’m inspired to sign up as a weeding volunteer. A massive well done to all the volunteers who keep this place flourishing as well as the members who allocate funding towards a wonderful area. As I write this review I look up and see a red-tailed cockatoo perched on the marri tree nibbling on some gum nuts. 10/10!

It is like being in the outback Australian bush inside as you see no houses in most of the park. It has toilets water picnic benches bbq's seating playground for kids..lovely nature trails..bird life is spectacular..the regeneration work by volunteers makes it special. Long run of well kempt grass traverses the park. Many dog walkers go there. It is very social at times in afternoons. I love it.

Nice clean public toilet, kids playground, dog friendly.
It is what I call a good family park.
Lost a star due to silage around parkinformation and historical significance being hard to read.

Huge, beautiful natural native bushland reserve originally ww2 barracks and hospital that has been rehabilitated. The park was named after Sir Frederick Samson. The park takes up 1/3 of the suburb is 80% natural bushland with the remainder being a large grass thoroughfare. There are BBQ facilities, gym equipment many marked bushwalk trails, basketball hoop as well as toilets and a shaded play area.
