I have always been happy with the material and service.
It is unfortunate that a few people have had bad experiences.
Some people do not understand that it is up to them to select the timber, door etc. and check size, squareness etc.
It is used material, which has almost always been cut or altered to suit a particular sitiuation.
All doors and windows are not equal or even to standard dimensions.
It is not up to the seller to make sure the item fits the buyer’s requirements.
If you make an incorrect purchase, it is unreasonable to expect your money back. That is your mistake.
The only time a refund could be expected, is if the seller knowingly sells it as something it is not.

I have been purchasing from this company for 16 years for both my business and my home renovations. Sadly I will not be able to do this anymore.
Most recently I purchased a door, 'for cash' as I like supporting a local family business and because it feels better to reuse than buy new environmentally.
The door turned out to be sawn down the edge, so it was over 15mm difference in width between the top and the bottom. Being an external door, this would mean it would let rain, dust and rodents into the space I am building, or I would have to pay more money to have it cut down further, which meant it would be uneven between the glass and side panels.
I agreed to paying a decent price including delivery, which was not far off a new door cost.
When I learned the door was unusable, I rang Cody and asked for my money back. My concern being that I cannot drive the door back to Lawson as I didn't have appropriate transport (I paid $80 cash for delivery).
When I was told I couldn't have my money back, I suggested that Fair Trading wouldn't agree that a faulty exterior door that couldn't be used would agree that is the case.
Cody continued arguing, despite my raising the concern I wasn't able to drive the door back. A simple solution would be to pick up the door or deliver another without charge, or simply give my money back, knowing I would return again, as I have previously.
Unfortunately they couldn't do that. I was just told 'You bought second hand'.
At no time, when I was asked for cash was I told it was non-refundable. I wasn't given a receipt.
I am incredibly disappointed that the loyalty I have given this business wasn't recognised. I have literally spent thousands over the past 16 years buying windows, doors, a bathroom sink and recycled timber and all I got was 'All I can give you is a store credit' when he knew he had delivered to me.
Of course that would leave me incredibly angry now, and $280 out of pocket with a door that is as good as firewood!
I am so sorry to say, be very, very careful buying from this business.

Excellent range of recycled materials and hidden gems always can be found. Lovely local business, the young fellas are always nice and helpful. The dog is a fixture of the business that is always kind and gentle, just looking for a pat and being a sweet old girl

Went here today, was greeted by a unrestrained bull terrier, we asked if the dog was ok, the lady said yes, the most it will do is bite your tracksuit pants, she called the dog away, later we made our way to the other building where the lady had gone and the dog twice came at us even after being called back by the owner. Why have a dog like this at a business. Where the public comes? Her husband had said don’t bring the dog to work as it scares the customers away, he was right.
They lost a sale today!
At the end of the day your dog is extremely dangerous, disgusting that you tried to shift the blame on to me .

Went here today and was confronted by a vicious dog and the owner thought that it was okay that this dog was unrestrained. The dog tried to attack us twice and was oblivious to it’s owners commands. I was too afraid to crouch down to examine goods for fear of being attacked. The dog was unpredictable and aggressive. I feel that this is unacceptable no matter what. A dog like this should not be allowed in a retail business.

The dog is divine and wouldn’t hurt a fly
Reading other comments have me bewildered.
Have been there several times without an issue.
I’d go back just to see the dog.
