I had a very disappointing experience with Kuringai Cycles in Hornsby this last weekend and I would strongly encoruage others to think twice before shopping there.

After already spending a significant amount of money with them on other bikes and accesorries over the years, I returned to pick up a small item or two. I quickly noticed that the pricing was inflated compared to standard market rate and I politely asked if they could sell to me at the RRP price instead of their store price. For context the item has a RRP of $15 and I could buy it from another store up the road for $13.00 but they were trying to get $20 for it. Given I was buying a few items I asked if they could come closer to the RRP of $15 ( I never asked them to go below RRP ) however they flatly refused, very rudely, and they preferred to lose the sale rather than offer something fair to a returning customer.

What made the experience worse was the atittude, the entire interaction was unfirendly, dismissive and I had to try really hard to say hello and distract them from eating their snack. It completely lacked any sense of appreciation for the loyalty I had previously shown.Having worked in and managed retail stores myself, I know that good customer service and building relationships are everything...and sadly, that mentality seems completely absent here.

While I was in the store, I also noticed other customers walk in and be ignored as wlel. Staff didn’t greet anyone or offer help. It felt like unless you made the first move or knew exactly what you wanted, you were invisible. It gives the impression that Kuringai Cycles is content relying on being one of the few bike shops in the area and as long as a small number of people make purchases without needing much assistance, they’re happy to coast along with a somewhat captive audience.

I fully understand that businesses need to make money. But marking up items above RRP and showing no willingness to value or support loyal customers is short-sighted. It reflects a lack of respect for the very people who choose to spend their hard-earned money with them.

If you are in ther markt for a new bike or parts i would highly recomend checking out other shops first as there are much friendlier, fairer options that will genuinely appreciate your business.

Charlie and the team are great. Very reasonable labour and parts costs. Highly recommend. Safety is not worth scrimping on, get a service and you'll be good as new

I bought accessories here in the past and had a service there once. They made me feel unwanted because the bike was purchased elsewhere. They have just recently asked my 2 boys (9 years old) to leave the store because they were in there too long. They were looking at stuff for me to buy for them. VERY rude people. Terrible service and I will never step foot in this place again. Anyone who gives them a 5 star review is a friend or doesn't know the first thing about service! Terrible establishment.

Had two Indonesian Becak bikes repaired by Charlie. I found it difficult to find someone able to repair them as they are a unusual bike .Then someone mention about Kuringai Cycles. Then went to Charlie. All repaired in a day at a very reasonable cost compared to the work completed. Recommend the business.

I have a believe when you have a great experience you tell everyone so from my personal experience I have found Kuringai Cycles is a great bike shop and not just another cookie cutter high end store that cost the earth .
Kuringai Cycles has a huge range of Bikes to suit everyone’s budget and Kuringai Cycles is absolutely full of bike accessories and bike bits to make every bike special .
And the most outstanding thing I have found about this bike shop is that Charlie who owns the shop with his wife Cathy is a real master bike mechanic with more then 50 years experience that’s know it all and will certainly fit you with a bike at a most reasonable competitive price and Charlie goes out of his way to keep his customers satisfied.
Yes i can go to all the high end bike shops and pay more but if I want great service and depth of knowledge about bikes I don't need to go any further then Kuringai Cycles .

Go up
