Thanks to Hornsby council for providing 5 star recycling facility in the midst of this community.

However all this is spoilt by some men at the centre who never smile, never bother to help and just stand there like statues. Three of them all with same attitude. Ask them anything and they will just point finger in the direction. I think an AI robot will do a better job with some interaction.

Hornsby is a great place to live, people of this community have been living here for years. I request council to please look into this matter and bring some positive change for a better customer experience. Thanks

Very easy recycle my electronics and batteries in a responsible manner. Most times it’s a fast in and out process. It’s great that you are undercover whilst dropping off.

Don't take hard plastics(ie plumber pipes and accessories). I tried selling it on market place, giving it to a local private plumber. I don't get council pick up I live in gated community that doesn't have one. Don't take cement in bags, mortar, timber of any type (thought this would be chipped by council). From a whole car load only took old computer, cables and used printer ink cartridges. I came home furious and had to unload car in over 30 degree heat same as day before when I packed the car in 30 degree heat. Won't bother next time, I'll find where close council pick up is happening and add to someone else's pile. Tried to do the right thing and just exhausted myself.

Fantastic facility available to the community for those wanting to make a positive impact to the environment. Clean, organised, accepts a wide range of recyclables, and lovely presentation - 5 stars there.

Appalling, misogynistic customer service received by shorter olive-skinned dark-haired assistant. We came with 2 cars (cardboard and foam, separated), my partner’s car was accepted in for offloading while I was told to remain in the queue. Partner asked the assistant if I could park behind him on the side to offload and was told “It’s a drive through, there’s no parking, she can stay where she is.”
Left my car where it was at the entrance and got out to offload. The assistant made a comment “You should have come with one car… oh, you’ve both got stuff.”

He then went to assist the lengthening car queue, beckoning others to drive around my car. A second, taller customer service assistant saw the inconvenience and made a practical suggestion for me to pull over on the side - what we initially asked to do.

My partner started offloading our second load and the first assistant returned to advise him how to do it properly. I couldn’t hear his advice so asked, “Sorry?” to which he responded, “Was I talking to you, or to the man?”
Absolutely disgusting behaviour and very poor representation of a great council service.

Having read other comments here, most reviews commend the availability of this facility and express derision at the poor customer service provided by one member of the facility.

Very clean, very convenient & very organised. You don't need to be living in this shire to dump your waste as you do in the Hills shire & that's a thumbs up. The staff is very friendly. Thanks for helping to dump my problem waste.

Excellent place for recycling, majority of staff there are helpful and with a smile.

Went there today at 3:50pm and found it is closed. Checked and it is suppose to close at 4pm. Is that a normal practices that you close 15 mins early to clear the queue? I am not saying I need to go as like it is emergency😂.

But I think a good customer experience start with open and close at the exact time you stated.

ATTENTION EVERYONE! THEY TAKE SOFT PLASTIC! Great community service available for all to use for all your hard to recycle items. One critique is that the car line up is quite hard to navigate as it's impossible to see at the entrance whether there free bays to drive in to. I would suggest having someone standing out there who ushers the cars in when there's space available, & who can also tell other cars to move up/down so they don't hog two spaces (as happened to me today).

Went in today (first open day since Christmas break) it was extremely busy. In saying that the staff where relaxed, helpful and respectful. I was able to drop off big load, and they helped rather than frown! Thank you for your efforts, keep up the good work.
