I have eaten my fair share of Pies around the country from the cruise ship days. I will say this is the BEST so far. Their savory pie selection is just amazing. The flaky crispy dough matched with the flavourful meaty filling is just a match made. Try the potato and beef or the steak and kidney! If you are adventurous try the hot chilli (though i think i would go for mild next time). Their retail loaves are also not fillled with air. So yeah its a must try place.

When going to or thru Babinda a visit to this bakery is a must. Famous for pies but they also have other treats that you'd find in a typical Australian bakery.

When I went (approx noon on a Saturday) the queue was long with customers snaking outside of the shop to place their order. It took about 10 mins to get to the front of the line.

My partner doesn't eat beef or other red meats. In most bakeries / pie shops that's a major limitation for choice. While it eliminated many of the pies on the menu here they still had a good selection of chicken &/or vegetable pies, about 6-7 choices which is a lot better than other similar shops.

The pies were good, maybe not the best I've ever had but they were good.

The disappointments were 1) our order was taken by someone on work experience; while this was my first time there they clearly didn't know the pies as I was told what I wanted wasn't available; I pointed to the type of pie I wanted that was in the warming tray and got the response of "oh, I see"; I know people have to start their working life somewhere but it was disappointing that my first exposure to their service was poor. 2) there are not enough tables and chairs for the large number of customers wanting to eat their pie while at the shop. They were probably built as a takeaway shop so the fact they provide *any* seating is good; unfortunately their success brings a probably unfair criticism.

The photos show a butter chicken pie, a chicken cranberry & brie pie (both hot) and an apple pie (cold, to take home). All were good.

Richly filled and good taste meat pie with coffee! Our first time we tried this Aussie meatpie, and we loved it! We chose the lamb & rosemary and the mild chilli beef pie. According to Google, this is the top 3 meatpie bakery in Queensland, and rightly so!

Best pies ever for variety and taste, pastry was a little underdone, could have been a tad crispier. Huge range of delicious deserts, cakes, bread in the North. Well set out store, clean, tidy and friendly staff. 🎂 🥮 🧁 🍰 🍞 🥖 🥐 🍞

Can't complain about a small business, producing delicious food, deserts are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. A inspire delight.

Gorgeous Bakery. Although it's quite popular, there was no rush or pushing crowds. Everyone was respectful and took their turn. The staff were organised and friendly. Shop was clean and tidy.
Then the best part...... the food was fantastic and well priced.
What a little bakery in a lively little township. Definitely worth the visit.
