We're so pleased we commissioned Geoff, via Handkrafted, to work on this project for our new office. Not only was he super easy to work with, the final product was very high quality. We'll definitely be back for more as our team grows!

Steven Giannuzzi is a master craftsman! We commissioned a bespoke wall mounted desk with a mid-century influence and dovetailed draws. Steve was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the initial design process right through to the finished product. Steve even made a to scale model for us to properly imagine the finished desk. His attention to detail and passion for building bespoke beautifully crafted furniture shows in our stunning desk. If you want a beautiful handcrafted piece of furniture then Steven Giannuzzi is your man!

Much like the name of the maker we went with, Like Butter, the experience of using Handkrafted to create display pieces for the UTS Hatchery Pop-up was smooth like butter.

From posting a brief through to making payments, the Handkrafted interface is simple and well designed. Communication throughout the process was helpful and friendly and we were left feeling warm and fuzzy about supporting local, sustainable design.

I have never been able to find someone suitable through this service, and while waiting for a response I managed to find other people interested to make items from customised designs. And this is coming from someone who works full time on a completely different job to design with no deep connections in the industry.

I would suggest if you wanted something made, google your local furniture/carpenter and contact them directly, there are many available if you live in a major city like Sydney. I don't see any point of using this service at all.

##### Here is my response to the following:

1. 13 December 2021. I presented a fairly simple design for a bookcase with some modifications and you were not able to find anyone initially either. It was not until sometime 12 January 2022 that you found some people. However, as I explained to you on 8 February 2022:

From my side, your first wood maker never got back to me even after I gave him all the dimensions so that straight away is a fail. XXX is very responsive and friendly but way too expensive compared to others. YYY is nice but seems to lack the experience to communicate more clearly with others and I was confused about her quote and her suggestions on a few occasions.

The above paragraph is exactly what I wrote back then (with names removed), and I went on further to say:

In contrast, one of the competitors was able to assess all of these, quoted immediately with options and the years of experience really shined through here. It took them less than 24 hours to provide me with all the options.

It was also $2500 cheaper than the quote I got from your carpenter XXX.

This was a local business in Sydney which I found myself. The construction was solid and cannot be faulted in any way.

Now, during this experience, you did try to find some suitable candidates, this was why I contacted you again in 2024 to see if you can find someone to save my time on a new lamp design which is a much smaller job than the above:

2. The request was sent on 11 May 2024. You conclusively confirmed you were not able to find anyone interested on 15 May 2024. During this time, I found a few people interested and this is from someone who works full time in a completely different field to design without any industry connections in carpentry.

As for your criticism on my design being uninspiring. Perhaps it would be better for you to advertise you would only be able to find makers if they find the customer's design inspiring on your website, it will save you time and effort from attracting untalented customers like myself in the future.

Highly recommend using Handkrafted as a link to local craftspeople such as Elliot Holdstock (from whom we just commissioned this magnificent 'Lloyd' chair). The beauty and quality of the chair is matched by the professionalism that Elliot brings to his practice. It is so comfortable and stylish and we are thrilled to have been able to support such high-quality work.

I had been looking for a pair of bedside tables for many years without success. I had a very clear vision of what I wanted, particularly the subtle Art Deco style. Ross drew up a design that was perfect. I was unsure about how I wanted certain features to look, so Ross made up two versions to show me. The handles were particularly challenging because I wanted mother of pearl. Ross was able to source a product that could be used in the curved shape I was wanting.
The end result was simply beautiful. I have exactly what I’ve been looking for at last. The craftsmanship is sensational and the finish is smooth and warm.
Ross was incredibly responsive and creative with his solutions to my requirements. He communicated with me without delay and kept me informed of progress.
I would highly recommend Ross to anyone looking for a unique piece with something different.

We found Stivanello Bespoke via Handkrafted and had a beautiful desk and shelves made for our study nook. The craftsmanship is superb and we couldn't be happier with what was created as well as the process to achieve it.
