Tjoritja / West MacDonnell Ranges is a popular National Park just west of Alice Springs, stretching for more than 160kms, featuring a series of spectacular chasms and gorges. It offers visitors picturesque walks suitable for all fitness levels, including the famous Larapinta Trail, beautiful swimming holes, and great campgrounds.

An ancient landscape, sculptured over time by climatic change.

You can find relics of a bygone tropical forest at many of the cool scenic gorges that act as a refuge for an assortment of plants and animals.

Most of the park, including the most popular attractions, is 2WD accessible, with some natural attractions requiring a 4WD.

A place of magic in the middle of nowhere, one of my favorite Gorges near Alice Springs so far. If you think you been refreshed, wait till you get to this place. Bring bug spray however. Flies LOVE sexy people.

If you swim to the back, it gets more secluded and surreal and you can see the little fish swimming around. Would go again!

Spectacular views. Loved the West Macdonnell Ranges. East ranges had a more spiritual feel.

The most amazing place to visit. Unfortunately NT Parks, in the wisdom, have introduced an online booking system. This means you have to pre book as there is no internet on site. You also need to take your laptop on holidays with you as the system doesn't work off a mobile or iPad.
Then when you finlly overcome these obstacles, you arrive you find your caravan doesn't fit on the site or it's too sloping to cater for your tent or camper.
