Unfortunately I have never had a restaurant bork up orders over and over and over again. Even as we sit here today. Steaks come out well done. Ordered medium. Staff seem to be space cadets and wander around wondering what they are to do next. Clean place. Food is good when they get it right. Running out of chances to give this place unfortunately. Will travel further for lunch next time. Sorry.

Great food but terrible service unfortunately, out of 7 people at the table , two people received food and drinks 35min before everyone else at the table even though we had all ordered the same thing.

Waitress was rude and not helpful in any way unfortunately.

This place was way better than expected. I travelled here from Brisbane city to meet friends and thought it might be bad but it was actually great! The decor was really nice and lots of sun umbrellas with white tables, very summery. There was also the order tags on the tables so you can just order on your phone instead of lining up. There was also a cubby where you pay for mini golf but you can buy snacks like ice cream there too.
Very fun place for families with table tennis, corn hole game, jenga and a fenced playground (free). Also putt putt (pay). Seems like Fantastic food specials through the week too.

Fast service and yummy cocktails. We had snacks like oysters and kids meals and these were great. There is also an attached bottle store and a conference centre which we didn't visit. Our seating was outside by choice but there are indoor areas in the bistro. There is also a sports bar.

My cocktail was so good, frozen pina colada. The kids meal was good too, he had pizza and chips with a juice. 13.50 for kids meals so not bad. Sweet potato fries and oysters were nice too.

My kid is going on age 2 and the playground was good for him it's probably best for ages 3-7 due to the high slide structure. They had slides, cubby houses, climbing features like little hills and logs and tunnels. Monkey bars were popular also. Playground does get a little slippery on the fake grass but my shoes didn't help.

There was no live music when we went but there was 90s rnb which is always a blast from the past. Grooving to Mary j Blige lol or boots with th furr.

Worst staff around and I'm an experienced bar manager. I go in there occasionally and I'm astonished at how bad the service is, especially considering how many are working.

I was laughed at by the girls at the bar like I was in school while eating my birthday lunch there, an overpriced very average steak whilst getting someone else's food on my arms from the previous person who ate at the table. This actually hurt my feelings that I was already alone on my bday and the that I was laughed at. I jsut wanted to go and leave my "special" lunch.

I've gotten a coffee at the restaurant several times and each time, even when they're not busy they're busy trying to make the drink for around 5-10minutes.

There's so much bartender to bartender giggly back chat about people everytime I go there (again like a school yard)

I've often been asked if I'm wanting a drink when I'm being served a drink even when there is nobody else at the bar. it's like they see me give my order to a bartender and approach immediately to ask if I'd like to order a drink.

They don't squeeze citrus.. so what's the point of having citrus added?

The acoustics of any music event are painful. They really didn't think that out.

A good bartender takes an interest in people and can turn their day around. You will never get that at The Alex.

Lastly, the signage on the building.. the only signage that stands out.. it says, "conference centre". Again, not well thought out.

Oh the design of the toilets feel like a prison too

There really isn't much going for this pub

Great place and generally good value for money, but breakfast service is atrocious.
Went for breakfast half and hour after opening and ordered the muesli. After a 15mins wait I enquired about when it will be ready as I was the only person there. After another 2mins of waiting and no feedback from the staff; I left without a refund on my purchased breakfast that never came.

Finding the right entrance for our event was difficult, we walked in from the wrong side.
Aircon was FREEZING, staff didn't care when we said it was cold.
Would have been nice to have water available during the event, or drinks for sale closer than where they were.
The conference space is nice, facilities need updating and repair, lights flickering, projector on one side very dull and flickering. Seats are old, heavy and uncomfortable, with varying degrees of recline (hard to make your event look professional when chairs don't align).

The alex hills pub had been recommended to me by a few people as my partner and I are from NZ, so we went to eat there for lunch today. I got the pork chop and mash and my partner got the main calamari. The calamari came out as an entree but the service was really quick to fix the problem, however the food was not very good for the price paid. The salt and pepper calamari is oily, floppy and lacking flavour. My partner couldn’t eat his $30 meal. A nice place to go for a drink and pokies but don’t bother with the food for the $$

It's the first time that I have been to the Alex in years, and to say it has changed would be an understatement.
My wife had the pork nuckle and I had food envy when it came out. It was huge!! All the food was of a large portion and very well done.
