This winery is bursting with positives. Charming, relaxed, not pretentious at all. Grab yourself a table overlooking the water, choose some cheese, olives and don't forget the lemon homus and a bottle of Riesling, sit back and marvel at the jewel of a place you stumbled across in your travels….thats what we did.

Came to Abbey Vale today , the service was exceptional , the lady that was doing the wine tastings was so friendly had a great bubbly personality and so professional , we were offered what ever we wanted in wine tastings to try , not like some places that judge and make you feel uncomfortable and charge for tastings. What also made our experience great was the lady in the cheese area , again very friendly and offered tastings of what ever we wanted and then made a wonderful cheese board for us . The staff even accommodated us to changing tables and then the table was a little unstable which the staff member noticed straight away and fixed ,that is great customer service. Very happy we will be back . The view and surroundings are beautiful as well.

Yallingup Cheese - these are the BEST cheeses we've ever tasted. As a group of 5 people, we ordered a three cheese board ($35.00). I'm not sure what they are doing differently to the rest but keep going. We had the St Marcellin; a goat milk cheese (Unsure of the name and we weren't sure about this one but it was fantastic); and the delicious soft cheese Suzette. We paired with Abbey Vale Chenin Blanc, a prefect accompaniment. We will be back!!!

I shouldn't tell anyone about this place. It's great to be able to choose some cheese for a plater and a bottle of wine and enjoy the view from the deck. When the South West is teaming with tourists it's like a hidden gem.

Booo to paying for tastings! I find at least one bottle of wine to buy in 9 out of 10 wineries I visit. I don’t really like the idea of paying for tastings up front. I get it’s something for free, especially if you don’t end up buying, but that’s what makes trips to Margie’s so special.
