Fantastic school. As Christian parents we wanted to send our child to a Christian school that supported our values and this school certainly does. Teachers are caring and kind and have a love for teaching. There is a good reason why there are class wait lists for most years. May God continue to bless this school.

If you are considering sending your child to this school, I beg you to consider not only my review but any other reviews with less than 2 stars as the 5 star reviews here are dishonest. They come from ex teachers/board or family members highly involved with the school, that leave generic and ambiguous information that contributes nothing other than padding the rating on this site.
This school is riddled with misconduct, nepotism & narcissism.

Assessment/Curriculum conduct:
Performing assessments, whether exams or written response, were always tedious. The curriculum was barely followed, each teacher adding their own 'spin' on the content, often leading to holes in learning and blatant misinformation.
Staff often play favourites, giving some students extra help with their work while leaving others in the dark. This often leads to confusion and students being punished for poor results when it is not the students fault at all.
I can recall when I had submitted my paper for the Year 11 Chemistry final before the due date, however it was denied due to the teacher claiming that they "didn't see it until after the deadline".
Furthermore, another teacher had collected final Year 12 assessments, supposed to be sent directly to QCAA, but instead redistributed the assessments to the students past the assessment due date, presumably for a 'second chance' to get a better result and thus keep the school in a favourable position in the statewide rankings. The fact that this was a Year 12 assessment redistributed AFTER the set QCAA deadline is appalling misconduct.

Staff conduct:
There is rarely any professionalism amongst the staff at this school, the Head of Secondary seems to have an underdeveloped frontal lobe with the bafflingly unreasonable and unfair punishments or policies enacted.
Teachers are known for making racist, sexist and culturally insensitive remarks to the face of students and other staff which further shows the immaturity and unprofessionalism of these staff.
The teachers commonly misspell and mispronounce the names of students that have been attending for years. Disrespecting both the student and their relationship with the student.
There are also a frightening amount of reports of inappropriate physical contact between some teachers and young students, which has no place in any school let alone a Christian one.
To be fair, there are still some professional, polite and skilled teachers, however they are far outweighed and outnumbered by the unprofessional and downright immature snobs that call themselves teachers.
The school board and staff are composed of almost entirely of different families unified by intermarriage, similar to the royal families of Europe back in the 1600s. This has created a toxic environment where staff or students outside this family are treated poorly and often get worse punishments compared to that of a member of the family.

Gossiping:
Petty gossip inside staff rooms is very common, where staff openly discuss sometimes confidential information about the mental health of students, medical conditions and disabilities regardless of the student's wishes to keep this information private. This is common between the school's 'Royal' family members as they discuss staff or students outside the family in a bad light, although this is not exclusive to the family.

Uniform conduct:
The uniform rules are outlined very vaguely in the student diary, often leading to teachers enforcing their own interpretation of the rules leading to some students getting more leniency compared to others. However, favouritism and the 'royal' family determines what you can get away with. One notable student would often wear excessive jewelry, skimpy clothing and non-natural hair dye in blatant violation of not only the dress code, but the Christian beliefs the school claims to uphold. Yet the most this student would get would be a warning, whilst polite behaving students would have their earrings confiscated on nothing more than the whim of a teacher
If you truly care for your child's wellbeing, avoid this school.

I was recently asked why I spend the money on a private school. ACC offers a number of things. 1. Excellent education - always in the top 3 OP rankings. 2. Nurturing - I loved the Principal telling every individual student that they were seen and they matter at their farewell assembly. 3. Community - small schools offer a sense of belonging that big schools struggle with. Great faith based school!

If you are looking for a primary school for your young ones Annandale may be a viable option, as the education program for Kindergarten to Year 6 is decent. However, I strongly advise a reconsideration of sending your teenagers to Annandale Christian College for their high school career. The school lacks fundamental procedures to manage any issues or punishments. They are inconsistent and will often overlook serious issues. The school also suffers with staff in the secondary environment, and will often have one teacher overloaded with work, whilst other teachers struggle to teach basic concepts and maintain control of their classes. Don’t get me wrong there are incredible teachers within the school, they are unfortunately overshadowed by the less incredible teachers. Annandale lacks information on navigating through the senior years (Year 11 & 12), if your child is considering applying to any university other than those in QLD, I strongly recommend against sending your child to Annandale Christian College as they will not receive help or guidance easily.

Side notes:
Annandale Christina college also fails to provide any sexual education, although that may represent “Christian Values” it has proven to lead to misinformation (in some cases no information) to students in the school causing significant issues in Year 11 & 12.

Annandale Christian College has a toxic environment that is built on false pretences by the school board and principal. An example of this can be seen in these reviews, as most on this page are made by members of the school board, teachers, and the principal himself. The school does not care enough to communicate efficiently with students about their concerns or wishes. For example, an incident occurred with myself and a guest speaker and in order to clear any miscommunication from my point of view I sent the principle an email, which he responded to 1 month later dismissing my concerns and claims.

This school does not hide its open homophobia, inviting guest speakers in to discuss their opinions on the topic despite most students being uneducated about the topic. The misunderstanding between the guest speakers and the students leads to bullying issues and isolation between classmates. Many of the students do not feel as though Annandale is living up to their promises, “All students have the right to feel valued for who they are and included as part of the school community.” (Annandale Christian College – Principal’s Welcome)

ACC has been such a wonderful fit for my family. Both my children settled in really quickly and the staff have always been approachable and friendly. Being a defence family it's vital to have a school where the kids feel secure and valued. Annandale Christian College has provided that for our family. We will be so sad to leave when we post out of Townsville. I would highly recommend ACC to anyone looking for a quality school.

This is a school that actively strives to put God first. I especially appreciate that my children are encouraged to talk about their faith, and express it, across all aspects of the College - they feel safe, loved and encouraged at ACC.

Wonderful school they are helpful and students are respectable, would recommend to anyone, i graduated from this school in 2008 , i have seen the way it has grown and shifted and all the input has been towards the students , teachers go out of there way to get the best results for the students no matter how many hours they have to put in and love to encourage them to succeed.
