Very educational and inspirational place, Robin our guide was extremely kind and his humour made the experience all the more interesting. I loved how interactive the guide was which made it easier to retain new information and put vivid lens to what could have become a dry lesson. P.S. doing some research will enhance your experience!

Hope the poor ol kangaroos are not there anymore, onsite in a cold drab fenced area, like 'canaries in the mine'....If they are that is shame job! Couldn't post w/o giving a star, need minus star option.

Amazing facilities, what is accessible for public/ children is wonderful and with all that it is such a missed opportunity. Educators made so many errors while presenting... Experiment designs were good but for such simple experiments they shouldn't fail like they did. The engaging parts were just averagely done and not good enough. Somebody with fresh eyes and sound knowledge should evaluate it with hopes of improving it.

Excellent place, filled with some of Australia's greatest minds with excellent research on the forefront of some of the world's cutting edge research.

The tours are always excellent and very informative both for children and adults. I've been on several and am still learning more.

ANSTO is great at engaging the community and is truly a place using nuclear science to benefit all Australians.

this is the only reactor in Australia. what they do is amazing. i really hope this status changes soon, with the ban on Nuclear Energy being lifted 🙂

This scientific research site houses some of Australia's most advanced technical equipment and expertise.

The OPAL reactor is the only nuclear reactor in Australia and serves two functions. Firstly, OPAL produces radio-pharmaceuticals on a daily basis benefiting one in two Australians. Secondly, the by-products of the reactor are used for scientific research in fields such as renewable energies, food and magnetism.

Other equipment on site includes a number of ion accelerators used to analyse the environment such as contaminants in ground water.

The only nuclear reactor in Australia, they are eager to share their science research. Their kids education programs have so far been excellent.
