When we visited, most of the building was completely free. There was one paid exhibit at the time.

Splendid collection of art and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Nice to have free cloaking as soon as you walk in.

The Art gallery of New south Wales features very intricate exhibitions regarding many different forms and eras of art. The renaissance, Aboriginal art, Post modern art and so much more. I highly recommend any art enthusiast to visit this wonderful museum. Each exhibit is designed specifically for the viewers eyes for the best experience possible.

Amazing museum that is a must see. Recently renovated with a second wing that doubles the square footage of the space. Plenty of guided tours throughout the day that aren't used very often so I ended up getting a private tour which I enjoyed a lot. Everything is complimentary which I thoroughly appreciated.

I really love how the museum doesn’t separate the contemporary art confronting colonialism from the traditional art, colonizers admired in paintings. I feel like they put the contemporary art, which is meant to challenge tradition and cultural atrocities, right where is can do its job the best. Also at the last minute, I decided to go to their screening of Baby Face and wow! This museum is such an asset.

We visited the gallery on the weekend, and it was obviously crowded. The variety of art pieces is amazing, ranging from the 16th century to modern day. I especially liked the painting of Napoleon's battle. If you enjoy reading the details of each artwork, you could easily spend days exploring the different sections of the gallery. Next time, I plan to visit their website and gather some information about the paintings on display before I go to the gallery.

Spent countless hours, and have seen countless Exhibitions in this Gallery, both the old building and the new. The Art Gallery of NSW is a must see for anybody living here or just visiting. Multiple levels and a cafe. Lots of events are also held here. Close to St James Station but still a little bit of a walk. There is both street parking and a parking lot near by.

It was a collection worth traveling for. They have all the greatest hits of traditional, modern, and contemporary Australian artists. Mixed with international superstars and emerging media work. It's a beautiful place that at the very least has an incredible view of the harbor. Don't miss the Ernesto Neto piece while it's up. The whole gallery smells like cloves. It's lovely!
