We felt very let down by this company and some of the dealings with their personnel. We purchased a brand new lift 2023 and paid for it up front; we were advised a 6 week delivery which turned into 7 months until installation in early 2024. There were also some added costs that were not factored in as part of the initial quote and we were over $5000. This lift is for a commercial property and our tenant requires this lift to adequately service their clients who a large percentage have a disability. The lift has been out of action now for 7 months while waiting plus the new one on and off - this is costing time and money.
The NEW lift seems to have continuous problems; we have had delays in responses from this company and our tenant has become frustrated.
There has been little to no after sales customers service to assist with the use of the product.
We are now still waiting to hear from this business about the product not working again. so while waiting for them to respond i am writing my experience in a public forum in the hope of some action and to encourage anyone looking for a lift to do their research and really consider you options.

Our lift was installed during the house build in 2014. It’s been a blessing and trouble free with yearly servicing. We also find the servicing costs reasonable, especially given that they are essential for safety.

I have had an Aussie Lift in my home for 10 plus years. In late 2023 we were experiencing problems and organised a service. We hadn’t realised that we had been dropped from the usual annual service.

The service guy came and fussed around for 5 hours and left with the lift inoperable. When I got a large bill I complained that the lift had not been fixed.

The service department organised to have the bill reduced but conditional on paying an annual subscription to be regularly serviced. This seemed to be a new requirement.

A new service visit was arranged asap which was the new year and an assessment was made of repairs needed- about $3700 in advance.

I complained that I have never been asked to pay for service in advance and negotiated a 50% deposit.

Well I am glad I did because we have had nearly a year of mucking around to get the lift operational again. The staff that came and the service staff I dealt with were very polite and conscious of their poor performance and I would suggest a little embarrassed that they were struggling to get the programming of anew board sorted.

Through that time I have had constant reminders to pay the other 50 % which I have had to get the service dept to sort for me numerous times.

On completion of the job which has taken nearly a year I wrote to them suggesting that they review the account. I addressed this to the accounts dept and my service rep. He was the only one to reply explaining that he realised that the service had been bad but it had cost them extra time and cost and he hoped in the future to restore my confidence in them.

I paid the bill today mostly out of sympathy for this service rep - Jared. And I need my lift looked after.

But as a business person myself I have a few suggestions for management.

1. You are not that good that you should be demanding payments in advance for lift service.

2. If you stuff up and it costs you money and your customer not to have a functioning product for nearly a year it’s not a great look for you to cry poor and offer NO comfort to your customer.

3. I have paid the bill out of exhaustion- not satisfaction but had you given heed to my requests to consider the bill given the horrendous service I might be singing your praises instead of giving this poor review.

To other customers - refuse to pay in advance and if you are in the market for a new lift consider a business that really cares about their customers at a level higher than the service rep. The accounts department did not reply to my requests for consideration of the bill or elevate my genuine issues to anyone that could appreciate that nearly a year of poor performance justified a reduction of the bill.

My mum has been a long-term customer of Aussie lifts for over 2 decades. Recently, the quality of the service and customer support for long-term home users has deteriorated.

After having had the lift completely rebuilt by Aussie Lifts my mum (an octogenarian person with mobility issues) had to have two callouts due to being trapped in the lift and the door being able to be opened when the lift car was not in place; both of which were dangerous and threatening to human life.

After having to prepay call-out fees and later being coerced to take out a maintenance contract eventually the fault was found.

The fault was not initially found but required multiple callouts which my mother paid for. It turned out that after the major rebuild, the lift engineer had failed to turn the lift back to normal operational mode and had left it in maintenance mode. This simple and fundamental failure of the company to set the lift to the correct mode resulted in the above life-threatening failures of the lift and multiple fees.

Even after my mum spoke with management at Aussie Lifts. They were unapologetic about this problem. Even after speaking with someone who claimed to be a manager, they were unapologetic and would not consider giving me any refund for the callouts or other charges. Not refunding any of the paid fees or other charges - when clearly, this is their fault. Having completely rebuilt the lift and left it in an unsafe operational state. For this alone, they should be reported to the Queensland Machinery Department with a failure in their duty of care and safety.

They may be good for commercial customers, but avoid this company as since they have expanded, they have totally forgotten the loyalty of many home-based users who helped them establish their business.
