Disappointed by the Treatment of Larger Dogs

I visited Bunnings Cairns City today with my XL Bully dog and had an overall positive experience until the end of my visit. I was originally helped by an older gentleman who assisted me in finding a heat lamp for my baby chickens. He was incredibly helpful, and I appreciated his friendly service.

However, on my way out, a staff member with a distinct Karen-style haircut approached me and accused my dog of leaving a mess in another aisle. She claimed to have asked another dog owner who said the mess wasn’t there before. I had been with my dog the entire time, even bought poo bags as a precaution, and noticed other dogs in the store. To be directly accused simply because I have a larger breed of dog felt completely unfair and discriminatory.

It's unfortunate that some staff members make such judgments based on the size of a dog, especially when I was responsible the entire time. As a loyal customer who enjoys Bunnings' pet-friendly policy, I found this treatment very disappointing. I've attached a photo of my dog to show that larger dogs can be just as well-behaved as any other.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all customers, regardless of their pets, are treated with respect.

Layout pretty good, stock levels are not what I would expect which by this time of the year I would expect them to be full. On the whole The staff aren’t bad. The absolute highlight is the older gentleman with a full wide beard who was always happy and always friendly and always 100% helpful.

Hands down best service we have ever received at any Bunnings, anywhere, ever just a few minutes ago. Young lady named Annabel heard us talking AS we walked in the door, hadn't even stepped into the shop yet, or asked for help, and she was already onto it. Naturally brilliant customer service with a beautiful smile to boot. Thanks Annabel, hope you get a raise in the New Year!

Bunnings has been my favourite one stop shop since l bought my house last year. All of my timber, paint, wallpaper, lighting and plants have come from Bunnings and l’m successfully turning my Plain Jane home into something amazing. I love that l don’t have to drive all over town to get what I need, and it’s saved me a lot of fuel and time. I’m getting lots of great ideas from the Bunnings Renovations videos on YouTube which show you how to easily create beautiful things, step by step.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Has everything I need and have spent many many hours throughout the years in here buying products to help new a DIY pro and not requiring to call 'pros' for jobs I can now do myself.
The only dislike are the increasing prices in everything.
There are noticeable increases throughout their whole range be it from the third party companies and bunnings passing the increase on or bunnings themselves increasing the prices of everything...

My impression is that the staff seem unhappy and unhelpful, particularly today. Bunnings, are you treating your employees terribly? I picked up on a strong vibe, and it's not good. I don't want to support this kind of business, I will take my money elsewhere.

On self-service checkouts, you are offered an electronic receipt. This morning, the self-service checkout wasn't open, so I had to check out through a staff member who processed the sale and gave me a paper receipt. When I asked for an electronic copy, she was completely unhelpful and said there was no way she could go back to the past sale. What is wrong with your POS system that this isn't an option? Why wasn't I offered the option in the first place?

Had to go to the service desk, and they had to credit the items and then go through the sale again. It was a waste of time, and I was quite put off by the original employees' attitude, though I don't blame her, as I said above, there was a vibe today and perhaps the staff all got some bad news.

I ordered an apple watch case like one month ago, its 1 month now , it never arrived, I asked them to cancel my order as it is taking too long, they did not refund me; shein is better than them, such a shame for the big company, they say 3-4 business days to arrive- never arrived- never got a refund. Then after one month, they offered me a refund saying it is out of stock.Such a shame
