Living in a rural area, I've been very frustrated with the service in our near-by towns. Called Cairns Hardware and found Susanne, who listened to my problem and went above and beyond to help. Fantastic follow-up, especially considering how difficult we were. My partner strongly believes she should be manager of the Innisfail store. Called up the bungalow store for a security screen door quote a month ago and had my measurements ready and was told I would hear back in the next week. The lady on the phone was rude and abrupt, didn’t even know cairns suburbs. Seems like some common sense is missing here with customer service. I Never heard back. It’s been a month and I’ve had another business give me a quote and correct measurements in that timeframe and so I am going with them…seems like cairns hardware don’t need to the customers.

Cairns Hardware is a great, locally owned company. We were after some large bags of potting mix. As I have two artificial knees I am unable to lift anything over 20 kilos. The guy behind the desk was more than happy to load the 4 x 60 litre bags of potting mix onto the back of our vehicle for me. Very helpful and a great variety of products as one would expect of a leading hardware store.

Very disappointed. We bought bathroom items and fittings. The initial enquiry in the bathroom centre was uninspiring. Luckily, we pretty much knew what we wanted but I would have been pleased for some advice, or even enthusiasm, from the salesperson. We requested a quote. From then on, we had to chase up on everything. we had to chase up the quote after 7 days, we were never advised when anything came in but had to chase up on that too. We gave 24 hours notice of when we would be coming in to pick up the large items. When we came in, the items were not ready and had to be searched for.
