Frustrating that this is the only camera shop in Darwin. Been there multiple times, bought pretty much a lot of photography and video related equipment from here multiple times.

Everytime I go here, the customer service is the worst. Is it because they are a monopoly in Darwin Market. These guys are super arrogant.

Their passport photographs are a joke. Twice, I got photographs taken which were out of focus. When I asked them, they said that's how their print comes out.

If you need something, I recommend buying from online retailers till we have another camera shop open in Darwin.

The fact that you would comment below with such a response shows your arrogance. The staff follow what they see the leader do.

After posting my review, I noticed a number of other customers complaint about the same thing. I suppose these are all fake accounts as well or hacked accounts. I supposed everyone is so jobless in life to leave you bad reviews.

I called you shop today to enquire about BlackMagic Product you or your staff said "I don't have time for this as there are too many customers in the store" and hung up. Learn some decent courtesy to answer customer queries.

And if you looked up my name and did not find any records, then you are bad at that as well. Pathetic! And YES! I went to the Darwin store and not the Palmerston one just be really clear.

Worse customer service and not listening to the customer’s explanation, but just proving himself as correct. We have taken a passport size photo for my daughter and for my husband.

The photo of my daughter was shown to us before the print. We were said to the cameramen that one of her shoulders was off. He showed the full sized photo with both shoulders. Then he sowed a second close up photo which was one shoulder off . He explained this is the one which will come out as the print. We won’t that happy, but we said okay because it has as least one shoulder covered with the dress.

The problem was the printed photo was without any shoulder covering which is awful looking. The cashier was I think the owner was refused listening, instead convinced how the photo comes after resized. But our point was that the final photo before the print that we agreed wasn’t the printed one.

We even paid extra for soft copies for useless photos for my daughter.

We are not professionals of photography for passport size photos. When we were not happy at the first time, before taking the print, they could have informed us.
Same day, we took another photo of my daughter from another place with free soft copies .
Very poor and rude customer service. I will never visit camera house ever again.

Amazing service. We needed a passport photo for our 2 week old to travel overseas (yes, we’re mad!) and it was done in 15 minutes! Very slick and professional service. Saved us from going to the post office!

I just moved to Darwin and was excited to find my local camera store that could process my many rolls of 35mm film.
I walked in enthusiastic to establish rapport since I would be dropping off film often, like I had at other film labs while living in Australia.
However, the poor customer service made me decide to mail in my film back to a different store in Australia that was kind and professional towards me.

I asked an employee near the door if they process film so I went up front and waited for someone to assist. There were 3 or 4 employees in the store, and 3 customers. One was helping another customer check out and I was waiting my turn next to the unoccupied till.

I didn’t mind waiting at all (for close to 10 minutes), that wasn’t the problem.
The problem began when a different older man employee came to the front and accused me of skipping the queue. There was no one else waiting while I waited but he made a jab at me and ridiculed me. I was flustered, apologized, and offered twice to let the other customer go first.
He asked for my surname and I accidentally gave him my full name because I was nervous from the out of nowhere rudeness. This mistake only escalated his attitude towards me to the point where the interaction felt so sour that I resorted to “nevermind, i’m sorry, i’ll drop off my film somewhere else”.

I’ve had nothing but kind interactions while living in Australia and this one was by far the worst.
I was excited to be a loyal customer and always have a good relationship with camera stores near me but I wish I listened to the negative reviews before I wasted my time.
I can see in the comments this business likes to argue and justify their negative reviews, but the reviews match up with the service I received in the store.

We took a passport photo of our baby in the shop after going to the Officeworks and a Post Office in vain. I learned that the Camera House is the only place in town to take a passport photo for babies. The young photographer was patient and experienced with babies, and everything was done efficiently. It took only 15 minutes to get the photo printed. Thanks for your service!
