Breakfast Left a Lot to Be Desired!

I recently stopped by Carbatec and thought I'd grab a quick bite while I waited. Unfortunately, my breakfast experience was as disappointing as it gets. I ordered a simple buttered croissant, expecting something light and flaky, but what I got was dry, tough, and barely buttered—like it had been sitting out all morning.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the Monte Carlo biscuits I added on were burnt! Yes, burnt biscuits—crispy and charred instead of the soft, sweet treat they're supposed to be. It’s not often you find a biscuit ruined, but somehow, Carbatec managed to pull it off.

Safe to say, I’ll be skipping the breakfast option next time. If they can't get a croissant and biscuits right, I’m not sure what to expect from the rest.

The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
They got myself out of a bine, if it was not for them the project would have failed.
They really do put themselves out there to help.

I recently had a custom table made by Carbatec and my experience was extremely disappointing. The table arrived with uneven legs and poorly finished edges, making it unusable. On top of that, the breakfast served during my visit was a disaster – the eggs were undercooked and inedible. Overall, a terrible experience from both the craftsmanship and customer service perspectives. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I’ve been shopping at Carbatec Perth for 8 years now - from a hobbyist maker through to a full time furniture maker running a commercial factory. The team at the Perth store have always been friendly and helpful and I always enjoy my visits to the store.

I've been going to Carbatech for about 20 years off the top of my head. Most of experiences have been alright. Shoppers should know that while the quality is good (very good) the prices are comparatively high. If you're after cheaper alternatives for a small job, or things like routerbits that are going to be used for only one job, go to Bunnings instead. I've also had the odd bad experience at the shop. For example, I bought a router from Carbetec that the shop assistant assured me was good. It was a dog. If you are unsure of what you're after, do your google research and hit your forums, otherwise you might be sold something that is not ideal, not the best, or upsold. They are in the business of making money, while the purchaser is in the business of saving money.

As a total amateur woodworker, I was in there for 5mins and learned a tip from the helpful staff. Provided me some excellent advice and saved me time and money in one it. Allowed me to finish off my project that I've been stuck on for a few weeks.

I can understand that there are staff shortages currently. But there’s absolutely no excuses for the terrible customer service that I received today at the store.
I came back today to exchange some products. After selecting my products, I was served by one of the staff members there. He helped do the exchange and charged me the difference. After I had paid the difference I questioned why it was so much as I wasn’t getting that many extra items. To which the staff member replied back go home check it and then go back. My response was so you want me to go home to check it? Why can’t I just check it here. He finally handed the receipt over to me in which I noticed that I was over charged for an item. I then told him that should only be x amount to which he misheard and thought I mentioned the exact amount I was overcharged. He quickly got the change from the till before even checking, even though I had paid on my debit card and he wanted to give me cash back. This lead me to question if I was over charged for my other products. It just seemed like he wanted to get me out of the store as quick as possible rather than offer his help to find out where I was over charged and then exact amount. I had to excuse myself to go and check the prices myself with him persistent to just give me the change from the till. To which I found I was over charged for multiple items not just 1. There was no apology or sympathy from the staff member. He blamed the computer as prices change all the time and it’s not his fault the prices on the stickers in the store weren’t updated.
