If you consider using CDA, ensure you hold them accountable for their work, even when they use contractors. Check all aspects of their work carefully, especially the wiring and power box.

We chose to go with CDA because they have the appeal of a premium service and looked very reputable. We had a split system aircon installed. Initially, everything seemed fine, the booking, billing, and installation processes were smooth. However, during the final inspection of the aircon unit installation, we discovered two safety concerns and missing weather seals. These issues included problems with the power box, the isolating switch, and the wiring.

We weren't going to say anything about the first two problems, but after finding the wiring was done incorrectly, we decided to bring these issues up. Upon reporting these issues to CDA, their response was disappointingly slow. They rely on contractors from Perth, and while the contractor was professional, resolving the problems took an excessively long time, from February until July. Despite being prompt with payments, CDA's follow-up on fixing the installation was delayed.

We had no luck getting the problem addressed, as CDA kept telling us that the contractor would fix the issue when they came to town. However, we would see the contractor in town multiple times, but they were never booked to come to our property, leaving the problem unresolved.

Eventually, we contacted the ACCC, and they provided us with information about accountability. They informed us that CDA, as the company we hired, was responsible for the work, not the contractors they used. With this information, we went back to CDA and insisted that they fix the problems, regardless of who they employed to do so. This finally caught their attention, and they came out and fixed it, but only after we provided this information.

These were serious safety concerns. While the problems were eventually resolved, the process was lengthy and frustrating.
