Darwin Airport is relatively small in comparison to the other capitals in Australia. Personally, we had no hassles flying domestic. When we landed late in the evening, it was very hectic with a long line waiting for cabs. Departing, we had to wait for the Qantas Lounge to open & there wasn't anything else open once through security. Hassle free security check, no waiting. Qantas Lounge is spacious & has good barista coffee.

Without a doubt, one of the worst airports worldwide. Small and inefficient. Nothing moves. Staff are incapable. There is only one flight for the whole airport. Check in machines need multiple reads. Luggage belt not working. Everyone is not moving at the screening stations. Expect super long wait even if there is no queue.

Please correct the TRS office location information. It locates at 2nd floor after re-screening tourists' hand-carry baggage. Before entering the lottery Duty Free shop, turn left after screened tourists' luggages.

I had a wonderful experience at Darwin International Airport. What sets it apart is the fact that it's not overly crowded, and it operates 24 hours, making it convenient for travelers with different schedules. The security process is efficient, with the added benefit of not having to remove your laptop from your bag during the scan. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurant options to choose from if you're in the mood for coffee or a quick bite. Overall, a great airport for a smooth and hassle-free journey.

The airport is easy to navigate and has all the amenties necessary.
The Qantas lounge is lovely, the waiting area before going through security is adequate and food and drinks are available with plenty of places to sit, unfortunately you have to wait till your flight is 2 hours from boarding before going through to get access to the lounges.
The staff are generally helpful although we ran into the rudest fat girl with long hair that ive ever come accross at the security screening, she left quite a few of us fuming and just spoilt the whole NT experience.

The airport itself is basic there are no tables to place your luggage ? if you want to repack which is odd because every other airport has repacking tables.
Very clean airport no issues with customs or check in. The staff are friendly!

One thing i would like to mention.
Virgin Australia flight VA1438 avoid at all costs! Paid $569 for flight + $88 for exit row seats. This is the worst flight experience to date. Seats have no cushioning left so you're pretty much leaning back onto a wooden panel covered with material for over three hours. I asked for a blanket and pillow to soften the back of the chair, the response i received was "no sorry we only have room for emergency equipment" id be checking your emergency equipment still works after seeing the state for your seats in the plane.

This is a health and safety issue and the planes should be audited. Cant believe they can sell plane tickets and expect people to sit on seats like that for three to four hours. I wasn't impressed!

There was also supposed to be WiFi on the plane, this wasn't available which doesn't surprise me at all.

Will not be flying with Virgin Australia again!

Great small airport. Beautifully landscaped and maintained. Easy to get back and forth to Darwin - long line of taxis available outside plus a dedicated area for Uber and rideshare.

WOW! There are third world airports with smoother operations. I'm guessing the cost of employees shifts the burden of a pleasant experience over to the customer?
Hardly a seat in the area where transfers continuing on are permitted until 2 hours before a departure can be attempted. Nobody got hurt. The only choice of International airports so I guess I should recommend you use it but bring your intuition on what you're supposed to be doing. Employees are GREAT when they are on duty.
