We stayed over the night at Downderry wines and had the best time! we’ve been to tasting in countries all over the world and never have we had a 10/10 wine selection like we did here. You can’t go wrong, whatever you like I’m sure they’ll live up to your expectations, Rex and Jan made our short stay one to remember.

We found Downderry wines on Wikicamps as a place to stay overnight and it's been our best stay ever. The owners Jan and Rex are very welcoming, and host many travellers on their property. We paid cash on arrival and the price was exceptionally reasonable for a one night stay with access to their toilets. We had a wine tasting and ended up buying a case of SSB, a bottle of their Shiraz, and a Port style wine - the Champagne style wine was also delicious!! We spotted that they had new lambs, and alpacas, and were invited to help feed them which was so lovely! Rex brought a out some wine dregs for us to enjoy, and even a taste of their new port which was STUNNING! He even bottled some for us the next morning to take away. A magical place and well worth a visit ✨

All you need to camp - Rex was very kind to sort us a firepit and firewood ♡
Never seen the sky so clear at night and it was a surreal experience - you could stargaze for hours ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This place is amazing! We were greeted by the owners Jan and Rex who were very hospitable and guided us through their fantastic wines. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you're heading past Williams. It's a unique experience at a winery that is quite kid friendly.

Such a lovely winery with a passionate owner who makes the most delicious reds, whites and ports! I don't usually like white or sparkling wines, but I found theirs delicious and very drinkable. Ended up buying shiraz, cab sav, and two different types of port. I really couldn't recommend stopping in more, so different (and much more pleasant) the big commercial winery experiences!

Rex and Jan are lovely, welcoming hosts. We stayed overnight, booked through Hipcamp. Had a quick wine tasting and chat with Jan, met up with Rex later for a yarn while hand feeding the alpacas. Beautiful property, wonderful wines and a fantastic relaxing stay. Also a great place for stargazing! Thanks very much Rex and Jan 🤩
