Called to enquire about 45kg gas bottles and they were unable to tell me if there would be a delivery charge or when delivery days were. Said they'd get someone to call back and didn't hear back. Have gone with another supplier

Does Elgas actually want customers?!
I have tried to call them consistently for a few weeks, but they just don't answer their phones!
Seriously, customers pay a yearly service fee for what? There is no service!!
Take my advice, go to any other LPG supplier, but Elgas.

I was a commercial client and have been paying over the top pricing. I called to speak with them and voice my concerns, politely and I was told, "don't bother going into it, I have 2000 customers." Well, 1999 now. Complete lack of customer service and will rort you without a care. Would not recommend.

Tried to set up a new connection. Forms submitted and they wanted to chat as it’s a new house asking me to call their standard number. Been on phone for over an hour. No one picks up! Terrible service. Sent a website enquiry but expecting this won’t be returned.

UPDATE - they’ve called today. As per other reviews they’ve said they are understaffed like a lot of other places - so have some sympathy. Good they called. Order is in - see how we go.

Could smell gas after a delivery. Rang elgas, they sent a serviceman around who sprayed some soapy water on the bottle. Passed it off and said no problems, even though the gas smell was intense with the bottles off. Was told to call a gas fitter. Gas fitter came around and found a hole, yes a hole, in the bottom of the bottle where gas was leaking from. Gas fitter said it was one of the most dangerous things he had seen and was surprised elgas just passed this on. I have called, messaged and emailed elgas with no reply. Their bottles are dangerous, DO NOT use the bottles from elgas, you could be blown up or your house could burn down. It’s absolutely shocking.

This company has screwed my entire household over. We had paid for a new gas refill in November and then they proceeded to close our account without even telling us. I had a baby who is now 3 months old and hasn't had a proper bath in almost 2 weeks because of their neglect and terrible customer service. Whenever we have tried calling them (in their business hours which isn't even correct on their website) they either didn't answer or we were blatantly ignored. We have had all of our calls forwarded to the Melbourne office twice and the Sydney office once. They will no longer have us as customers and if they don't rectify the issue as my housemate has stated we will be contacting the ombudsmen.
