We had a lovely time at Ernest Hill Wines. The wine tasting experience was very well done—smooth, informative, and enjoyable. Julia guided us through the tasting with warmth and professionalism, introducing us to a range of wines that, while not groundbreaking, were all very pleasant and easy to enjoy.

The setting is small but cozy, clean, and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed stop on a wine tour. A real highlight was spotting kangaroos around the vineyards, which added a wonderful touch of Aussie charm to the visit.

All in all, there’s nothing to complain about—just a genuinely nice experience in a beautiful spot. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

The Vineyard was very pretty and the guide was very very informative. I have taken tours of many Vineyards and wineries around the world, and this guide really knew her enology and viticulture. It would’ve been a wonderful tour and tasting, except for the fact that at the end she was making fun of one of the wines that we actually wanted to bring home. Which made things a little awkward. It was one of the sweet wines, and I usually love a big red Cabernet, and lived near the California wine region for many years, and was accustomed to California wines, but have grown a fondness for other regional wines, including Australia, and was really enjoying some of their Pinots, but also some of the sweeter wines which are really not offered much in California vineyards. And so we were looking forward to bringing some of the sweeter wines back, and it was really offputting that the guide was sort of making fun of them, because then we felt really odd buying them. Spoiler alert: we bought them anyway! But she made us feel like a little bit of a dummy that we wanted to buy them. I know that a more sophisticated palate would’ve bought some of the other wines, but that’s not what we wanted.

One of the best wine tastings in the Hunter Valley. The host was both charming and incredibly knowledgeable, walking through how to taste the wines properly before describing each wine and why it pairs well with certain foods. Do yourself a favour and try the Muscat.

It's a nice vineyard and the wines were not bad, but it wasn't a pleasant experience. In a stark contrast with other wineries, the host was not very welcoming. We felt like we were a nuisance and were very quickly rushed through the tasting. There was no one else they should have been happy to have visitors but it was the opposite. The tasting is $15pp which is the most expensive of the ones I did in Hunter Valley. Strictly according to the menu there are no specials like they always do in other places. I was going to buy some wine but when I asked if they could waive the tasting fee, the answer was an unfriendly no. So I didn't feel like spending any more money there. Not sure what happened there but they should rethink how they present themselves.

Quite rarely I give out 5 stars but this place deserves more!!

We called in for tasting. You know how you get confused when there are thousands of vineyards around and you are not sure what and where to go, My partner was super excited to go to one, i was not sure and i was driving too. Anyway we called in and super friendly lady confirmed us just before a bus group would be doing their session.

The vineyard look soo good and lovely from outside, the staffs were so welcoming and passionate for what they are doing. We had Anne explain us about the wines. She made the experience so much better. The passion and knowledge she was sharing was great like the wines i'd say.

Never before I would have thought a grape juice on a glass was a result of such hard work, blood, sweat and tears. We ended up chatting about the process of making wines to the farming aspect of the grapes and weather, season...you name it.

Anne, god bless your soul. You are truly the face of the region. I hope the rain made you guys smile as the weather/drought and bushfire has made it really hard on the vineyards.

Would really like to recommend this place to everyone who are like us, who enjoy a glass of wine but would like to know a bit more about the art that's fitting this masterpiece into a glass bottle with pure hard work and passion.

Amazing winery, loved the staff here! A homely vibe and so warm and welcoming! Their wines were fantastic. My favorite Rosé I've ever tried and the sweet semillon and gewürtztraminer were excellent!! A must visit!

Kick started our vineyard weekend here. Have absolute no regrets. Fiona hosted our group. She was exceptional in her knowledge of the region as well as the wines and process of how the wines are produced. She had an incredible emotional quotient and had strong banter skills with our group. She’s a huge asset to this winery. Her historical knowledge and heritage knowledge of Ernest Hill was incredible.

The wine quality, was superb. As well as Fiona Highlighting how Harry, grafted gerwurztraminer vines. highly recommend to visit if you’re interested in great history and down to earth story telling and tasting.
