Good town with quirky op shop and great gem collection by Ted Elliott. The lady at the op shop offered the manager position for a couple of years. Op shop offers a good drop in space for all. The anthill house in town also interesting, hope owners have funds to finish the refurbishment.

Very very disappointed in your roads, your shire has some fantastic things to offer to tourists, but you are not enabling them, we went to cobbold Gorge, Forsayth and Einasleigh and would have spent more time and money in your area goergetown is neat, you have the savanalander and so much to offer but got sick of getting our van smashed up, your news letter says you got funding to fix them but what we keep seeing was fresh grader marks on the sides of the road and the sides graded but no grading on the road surface itself? You have to many long roads with terrible and continuous corrigations, it's all good to promote supporting our small towns but you need to support us travellers as well, we love travelling in the country and basically 100% of our daily spend is in small towns, in your area we kept meeting fellow travellers who were blowing tyres, breaking suspension cracking windscreens and even one couple who had had a lithium battery shook up so much it caught fire, we have quite happily did the Birdsville track and Cameron's corner and your roads are worse, it's easy for us, we will just go elsewhere and pass on the news but you need to do a better job of helping your region, this weekend was the Forsayth and Einasleigh rodeo weekend we did the Forsayth but most people we had been traving with were sick of the roads after cobbold and just left, the rodeo could have had a lot better attendance as its the sort of thing that travellers love, anyhow there's my 2 bob
