Do not buy from this company. Purchased there tallowwood decking 122x22mm standard and better. Large portion was feature at best. Not 1 length was 122mm wide. Lengths were also varying in width from one end to the next eg 113mm one end 118mm at the other. Some varying thicknesses also. Cupping from when they were delivered. Tried for many months to get a resolution but they just stopped responding. Ended up going with a different supplier so now have a lot of timber I don’t have a use for. Buyer beware. Few examples in the photos. I have many many more.

We went down to the sawmill and looked at the decking they had for sale. It was amazing to see how many different species they had available. Their top grade stuff was unbelievable especially when you see a shed full of it! I think they had decking boards their up to about 32 mm thick. We had a massive area to do and because our budget was tight we went for the feature grade or maybe they call it second grade. We were more than happy with the way it went down and at the end of the day it worked out allot cheaper than we thought because the board was wider than what most places were offering at the time. I used the 3rd grade decking board they had for sale to line a 70 meter long fence to 1.8 meters high. I screwed it up horizontally and it came up really good. I nearly did the whole fence in that coloured tin and I'm glad now that I didn't. The timber worked out cheaper than buying the roofing tin and it looks so much better. I ended up buying more later on and I made my own gates out it. I think it was only something like $1.60 a meter for the 6 inch wide board so it was allot cheaper than anything I could get from the auctions. Plus I wanted to buy something locally that I knew I could go back down the track and purchase more of the same size if I wanted to extend.

Old fashion service from knowledgeable staff. I was looking for good quality timber for a deck and found the sales staff very helpful and experienced in helping me choose the right timber for my project. Received my written quote by email very quickly and in detail including all the various options that were available. It also came with lots of documentation explaining how to store, build with and maintain. There was a lot of information here that I wouldn't have known. I ended up purchasing standard and better grade for my decking and some feature grade for a feature wall. Happy I chose to go with Qld hardwood rather than all the inported rubbish sold at the big hardware stores, this timber is grown locally and produced locally in Australia.
Absolutely thrilled with the end result.
Any future projects, would certainly buy again from GT Hardwood and recommend them.

If I could put a big "ZERO" I would. Very disappointed with the timber delivered, we purchased for a better and standard timber and we were given a feature grade timber what a "rip off". On purchase we were told by the sales lady that standard and better is a smooth finish and we were shown a sample for the said timber. It will be all good quality for the price you paid for. On delivery we unpacked only to find that the majority of the pack is all feature grade quality. With cracks and rough sawn marks, and some holes in the timber . We showed the lady the timber she delivered and we said to her the timber is a feature grade not a standard and better that we paid for. We are surprise when she said feature grade is worse than the reject timber given to us of which she classify as a Standard and Better timber in that case the feature grade is actually a firewood so to speak, I have not read all the review before purchasing to this place as it was rated 3.5 stars. Don't be fooled by the overall 3.5 stars currently posted towards this company. I honestly cannot recommend this place. Look and buy elsewhere.

Multiple calls needed. They quoted for some KD DAR pine that they 'might have on the racks'. Even though is was a 2 min walk from their office, my builder and I had to drive half an hour to find out that they had none available. We selected some rougher header structural pine that was straight but the guy/owner insisted it was the same price as DAR so charged me 33% more than the Bunnings price! My experienced builder and I will not be using GT again.

Bought timber decking off these guys and the timber started cracking and cupping as soon as it was laid into the sun. We ended up giving all the timber back used and unused with no refund yet from GT Hardwood.

We thought we would support local businesses in our area and put our trust into a supposedly naturally seasoned Australian timber. This place has let us down and out of pocket hundreds of dollars. Hope they know they are just ripping off the family’s.

Lucky Narangba Timbers helped us out with quality kiln dried Australian timber delivered the very next day. We laid the decking with no problems cracking or warping. Looks fantastic.

Worst company to buy timber from. We needed a certain amount of timber. They agreeed they would have it in to two lots. We paid $3000 and received the first lot. Weeks later they are telling us they will not have enough timber to the orginal agreed amount. We now have a deck 1/3 completed. As well as the first load had metres and metres of unusable timber as the quality was so bad.

$3000 down the drain. Disgusted!
