From the moment we walked into their brand new stunning showroom in Claremont, we thought that Hacker would be the company for us. But it was Chris Gregoriou's personable approach that convinced us. He made what could have been an overwhelming process feel manageable and enjoyable. He was always available to answer our questions, and provided lots of suggestions that helped us stay within budget, without compromising on quality. I highly recommend Hacker to anyone looking to renovate their kitchen. Chris's (and Hacker's) commitment to customer satisfaction makes them an excellent choice.

While Chris is a pleasant guy, we were disappointed with the lack of transparency in Häcker’s quoting/pricing process and the poor service we received while trying to remodel our kitchen.

We never received a formal quote and were asked to place a 15k deposit. The deposit was supposed to “lock in prices” but having never received an itemized quote, it was impossible to understand what was being locked in. One side note: when I received the 15k invoice, it stated the entire amount was nonrefundable, even though Chris previously told me that only part of it was nonrefundable. Once I asked for clarification, he admitted his “mistake” and corrected the only nonrefundable portion from 15 K to 4K. 4k of this deposit was non-refundable even though we only received sketches and decided to cancel the project with them, so BEWARE. Friendly advice, since the process is not well laid out, all values are negotiable. I would try to avoid or minimize the non-refundable. design fee.

There was lots of attention but it was misdirected to things like pressuring us to buy appliances through them with a 15k “credit” before we had the design finished (or a quote).

We were verbally promised lots of deals and upgrades but ultimately our budget was ignored and any tweak we wanted, regardless of it be a reduction in material quality or scope garnered a “that will cost more” from the salesperson.

We found another kitchen construction company who got us exactly what we wanted, including a significant upgrade to quartzite countertops, for under our budget.

The best we could tell without a quote, Hacker are very proud of their carcasses and hardware, but who cares about that when you can have beautiful natural stone and timber doors for much less!

Btw I’m putting this in a Google review because my advice to the company (headquartered in Melbourne) fell on deaf ears.
