Service from waitress and bar staff was absolutely amazing. Meals however will stop us returning for a long while. 9 meals not served for a seating 22. And the issue was not addressed until the 4th complaint and waiting 1hr and 25mim from the first meal placed on the table. Vegetables came out still frozen, and chicken schnitzels & nuggets were over cooked. Feels more like a management issue, consumer can see staff trying to keep up with excessive orders without much experience.
But well done on their patients and skills at diverting what could have been a very awkward situation. 21-8-24

Dropped in for lunch on our travels. Admittedly, the only other open option was an eat-in bakery.

However, the food and service were great. The meals were excessively big, so all 4 of us took "doggy boxes" with us.

Today I ordered a beef, bacon & Guinness pie.
The steamed vegetables were almost raw & cold.
I couldn't taste the Guiness in the pie - which was cold.
I returned the meal. The pie came came back hot but the vegetables were still almost raw.
Maybe the pie should've been called simply a beef & bacon pie?!
My sister ordered rissoles - they were cold. Her steamed vegetables were almost raw & cold. My friend sitting beside me ordered a schnitzel. Same deal: cold meal & almost raw vegetables.

In town for a short stay. Had the pleasure to dine here each night. Staff are very friendly and accomodating and the food has been fantastic each night. Shall return in future when visiting town

In town for work. 4 days of 3x meals a day at the Cecil was a highlight. Fun and friendly bar and restaurant staff. Great value for money. Exceptional meals. We will all be back. Thank you

This place used to be the spot to go for a nice hot meal and beer, but recently bar staff have all seemed to have a chip on there shoulder and are very rude especially once it gets later into the night, I even witnessed bar staff throw water on a patron for no direct reason.if you can’t handle working late choose a different career.
