Our roof was completed today after the most painful 15 months of my life.

We had been approved by council for 11 months but everything else was delayed.
The worst communication from any company I’ve ever dealt with. The only time we knew where our roof was up to was because we called, emailed and messaged multiple times. Even then we were promised a call back which never came. Hunter Patios doesn’t communicate with their supplier/engineers either so they never knew what was going on.

The only time they reached out to us first was if they wanted the next payment.
They took a large payment on the pretence that the parts would be ordered and arrive within 4 weeks. After three months of us calling regularly asking where things were at we find out it hasn’t been ordered and is ‘stuck with engineering’ but couldn’t tell us why it was held up. Only after we asked for a refund did they follow up and get everything moving.
The plans were changed due to engineering and when we asked for a new drawing to show the planned changes we were given a drawing which was the same as the original. When we asked specific questions about the changes we were informed that it was very similar to the original.
When the builders arrived they tell us that the new changes are nothing like the old plans. The wrong parts (from the old drawing) were ordered so the build was put on hold for weeks without any communication. The new parts arrived and building briefly commenced again, another part was missing but they didn’t believe the builder so didn’t order the part straight away. The part took several months to arrive and was delayed multiple times with a shell of a roof and parts scattered throughout our front and back yards. We had a second team of installers (Roland and Dario) who were fantastic. They fixed prior mistakes from the first installers, communicated well when they were attending and where we were at. They completed our roof despite not being provided a drawing and many design flaws. I wish we had spent more money for a better company. The owner has other businesses and I believe their priorities are focused elsewhere. Multiple 5 star reviews are from current employees so I wouldn’t trust their rating and strongly recommend you use a better company even if they quote more money.

My experience with Hunter Patios and Additions has been excellent, this is a professional outfit, point of sale was easy as you like, after seeing the display roofs in the showroom, I knew the quality of materials and the build are top tier, highly recommended 👍 😀

Buyer beware!
Would give them zero stars if I could.

They get you to pay nearly all of the money upfront before anything arrives or any work completed then you have to wait WEEKS for them to turn up.

They subcontract out the construction of the patios to other builders, they don’t actually do any of the work themselves.

The builders on my house fell through the roof spreading Asbestos eves fragments everywhere and didn’t clean it up leaving asbestos in my backyard.

They also did not follow the installation instructions from Stratco and when I called them out on it refused to come and fix it.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Happy to remove this review if you install the Facia brackets properly… repair the broken tile batten, the huge hole in the sarking and some adequate compensation for thinking it’s acceptable to leave me with a backyard contaminated with asbestos waste.. you make a mess you clean it up. Got taught that in kindergarten.

The design they proposed was exactly what we envisioned, and they were flexible in accommodating our specific requests. The build was a smooth right through, we just love our new Patio.
