This place needs a renovation and probably a new owner. I no longer buy fruit and vegetables from here, disappointed too many times. Prices seem pretty high and just lacks any care or effort. Pitty it's the only shop around, better off at the servo.

My family and I just moved to the neighborhood. I've been setting up my recording studio all day. Only to realise that Cole's closed at 5 PM.

Hence; my next best store to visit was IGA. It's conveniently located 5 minutes drive from my home.

It's a good store with great customer service! The only thing you have to realise is that, being one of the few stores with longer opening hours means that their prices will be higher than other places. I noticed that most items were $1 dollar marked up. Shop here if you totally have to. That's what I did.

Otherwise, they have all your basic needs and more.

Good store! Thanks 😊

Sadly I cannot recommend this store, as can be seen in the photos, mouldy tomato's for one, .. the produce here is not kept well, stock used by dates are not respected nor are they kept an eye on, many times I've picked up off food here only to find after paying and getting home it's not fit for use. I would honestly steer clear of this store unless you have absolutely no other option but McDonald's is open 24/7 so .... Upto you if you want to be sick or not.

By FAR the worst IGA have have had the displeasure of stepping into.

Slowly but surely it’s looking a bit more fresh and modern inside but the contents of these new shelves and fridges leaves a lot to be desired. I doubt I’ll be returning after today.

Firstly, the owner must hate that IGA are constantly rotating sales between cartons of cool drink as they never have the special prices listed on them. The amount of times staff try to pop a carton through as Sundries at full price when I know it’s in the catalogue is a joke. I will stop them every time and let them know they’re about to “accidentally “ over charge me. Check your expiration dates too, people. I’ve had more than one flat, out of date carton from there.

You can’t even buy a cheap package of sausages for goodness sake. I think their smallest pack is about 5 sausages for approx. $9-10. WHAT?! Supposed to be the cheapest cuts of meats but will still cost you a few dollars more than they should here.

You won’t get a meal for under $20 from here.

They never have any beef with marbling. It’s so depressing. If you want to pay top dollar for red-all-over steaks, go ahead, but I won’t waste my money on them.

At least there is an AMAZING French butcher down the street.

Produce…. Is disgusting. Do the fridges get turned off after closing time? The skins of tomatoes and capsicums are ALWAYS soft and wrinkly.

I bought a white onion the other night and it was absolutely blackened inside and rotten. I returned days later to buy another [hopefully fresh] white onion and they have NONE. I don’t believe we have any onion shortages at the moment, so probably just poor planning on behalf of the owner.

Don’t try and buy any staples on a weekend. They order enough for Mon-Fri and then it’s slim pickings Saturday & Sunday. No point in even wasting your time if you need something on a weekend. They won’t have it.

They don’t stock basic kitchenwares. I use a Chux dish wand but you can’t even get replacement scrubbing pads here. They have them at the Belmont IGA, though. I guess I’ll have to drive 5 mins extra for a decent shop.

Staff are nice, but they won’t pack your bags for you. Aldi is cheap because they don’t pay their staff to pack your bags. What is this IGAs excuse?

Please sell the store. The Rivervale community deserves better than this!
