We stumbled across this little hole-in-the-wall bakery quite by accident, just before closing time on a Saturday afternoon. The shelves were completely empty and all that was left were some giant cookies. After seeing a local and regular customer buy half a dozen cookies and recommend them to us, we bought 3 ourselves to try. I thought that they were a little expensive, but they were amazing with a slightly crisp outer shell and a soft and chewy inner core! This is truly small batch, artisan baking with high quality ingredients!

VEGANS TAKE NOTE! Tanya's Indie Bakehouse is brilliant for vegan (and other) celebration cakes! We were so happy with Tanya's vegan salted caramel and vanilla cake and everyone at the party thought it looked and tasted out of this world!
Very reasonable prices and Tanya was so efficient, helpful and lovely to talk to.

I’m so blessed to get to have a sticky beak and see the beautiful freshly baked sourdough focaccia and breads straight out of the ovens!!! I wish this place was open more often as the sourdough bread is the best Ive ever eaten. I don’t normally eat bread, but I’ll eat this slow fermented sourdough in the many delicious flavours like miso and herb, or golden turmeric 🤩

Today they are making their own special mayonnaise (miso herb or green) 🤤it’s rare to find places that still make foods from scratch without the preservatives or emulsifiers you find in most processed sauces, breads and other seemingly harmless edibles. Thank you 🙏 Indie Bakehouse for keeping it real and feeding MEANJIN the good stuff 🤩!

Very tasty treats, cookies (some of the best is Bris!), pastry, breads and cakes...... and the new matcha cake/bites are delicious as! the icing on the cake is Tanya who owns/runs the bake house is awesome too!

Incredibly well priced food. Tanya is a joy to work with. Prompt, kind and beyond helpful. Thanks to Indie Treats our work function was able to successfully cater to 80 people including gluten free and vegan options. You can tell they take great pride in their work, a pride that is well deserved. 10/10 would recommend.
