Rang to get product info.
Basically told we are not a retailer and go find one.
Great service.
My last Jotun bill was $18k.
Guess I'm not a big enough customer to warrant any assistance with product selection.
Can't wait till next slipway and the Jotun Rep is there.
Altex where very helpful.
So Jotun just lost my business.

Had my launch repaired and repainted at Harwood Marine and tried to contract Jotun rep. tò discuss the job and no luck. Jotun would not return my call, they were busy and ignored my emails. The work done is failing and needs repairing (by me) and as the boat was orihinally inspected by jotun rep at the slipway, and he gave his restoration plan which i now need. I am reluctant to contact the slipway.

Warning - A public service announcement not to use Jotun marine paint. Had a very poor experience with the Jotun company themselves (in Brisbane, Australia) after they made an error that ended up personally costing me over $600 (plus the opportunity cost of having had 4 painters lined up that had to be sent home). There was nothing by way of anything resembling adequate customer service from their Brisbane Rep to rectify the situation. The retailer was great - Jotun themselves were awful to deal with.

Having been in business myself for over 25 years I know every company makes mistakes from time to time but most companies at least try to resolve the issues most of the time, particularly when the recognise it was their act, error or omission that led to a client’s loss. Most companies stand behind their product and actions. Not Jotun in my experience.

Upon politely enquiring as to whether they could provide additional product (free of charge or at least at cost price) to partly compensate me I was rudely told that they “don’t give paint away for free” and was then quite unbelievably subsequently threatened not to post anything negative on social media because “Jotun takes that sort of thing very seriously”.

I will be switching marine paint / boat paint brands in Australian away from Jotun. Will never use Jotun paint again.
