I wanted to support Australian and buy quality meat but upon calling them to question their rump the receptionist had no clue about their products and kept saying “I think it says grain fed on our website” but I kept pushing for absolute clarification as to whether their “heart smart” rump was grain or grass fed. The packaging does not stipulate. After questioning her knowledge she then put me through to sales. I got a sales woman who then honestly couldn’t have cared less either and didn’t know. I said I wanted 100% clarification as I’d bothered to call so I wanted a firm answer, grass fed or not? She went away and asked someone else. It felt like I was bothering their day and honestly I’m so disappointed in how they treat their customers and their lack of knowledge. I won’t be purchasing this brand.

I’ve known the Kilkoy guys for many years on now and the beef they grow is absolutely stunning - some of the best in this country and dare to say the world!

Just got my share of a whole wagyu striploin/siroloin/New York strip (was a present so not graded, however based on the marbling I am guessing a 6 marble score at the least).

This beef is stunning - the flavour is earthy, mildly beefy, a bit of grassy hint and deliciousness on the back pallet. Goes essentially well with an old bottle of French wine or a glass of deep shiraz from barrosa / McLaren Vale!

Would not be able to highly enough recommend these guys! Look forward to the stunning feast.

ps. Tips for storage: never allow water to touch your meat. Always slice to your desire (mine is 350g) with a dry knife and then put in paper towels for a few days to dry age in the fridge. I do also salt it with rock salt, especially the fat side.
